Job Purpose:

The role provides the opportunity to make an important contribution to the FICC Operations team.  The candidate will be responsible for middle and back-office functions in support of the firm’s Fixed Income Credit and Structured Products Trading Desks.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Real time support of Fixed Income trade activity, including but not limited to:

  • Comply with T+1 settlement cycle mandates in accordance with SEC Rule 15c6-2
  • Confirm and allocate trades
  • Collaborate with trading desks and firm counterparties to address and resolve trade discrepancies
  • Open client DVP/RVP accounts and ensure settlement instructions are up to date
  • Collaborate with firm counterparties and custodians to promptly resolve aged fails and unaffirmed trades
  • Monitor position reports intra-day to identify any REGS/144A securities that require conversion and instruct accordingly
  • Assist in EOD reconciliation of trading P&L and the firm’s daily closeout procedures
  • Escalate and assist in resolving operational risks to the firm (ie. Regulatory Notifications, Buyins and Margin Calls)
  • Oversee daily and monthly trade, positions, and P&L reconciliations

Coordinate Syndicated Loan / Private Equity / Bank Debt settlement:

  • Produce customized trade recaps
  • Trade input and settlement management via S&P’s Clearpar system
  • Liaise with internal counsel, compliance, business heads and traders in the management of the post trade process involved with closing private transactions.
  • Produce internal funding memos and coordinate with finance for money movements involved in the closing of private transactions.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3+ years of Middle/Back Office experience at a buy side or sell side financial institution, with a focus on supporting Fixed Income and Structured Product securities
  • Prior experience with Bloomberg TOMS
  • DTCC ALERT and CTM knowledge
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks in a fast-faced, deadline-driven environment
  • Self-motivated approach to work and superior attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft suite of applications with strong Excel skills for data analysis and reporting

Compensation: 

  • BTIG offers a competitive compensation and benefits package. Salary range is based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, location, years of applicable experience, skills, qualifications, licensure and certifications, and other business and organization needs.
  • The current estimated base salary range for this role is $90,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year. Please note that certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as discretionary bonus or overtime.
