Operations Intern 2026

The Role

There is no better way to experience what a career at MarketAxess has to offer than through our 9- week internship program. As a 2026 summer intern within the Operations team, you will grow your skills through on-the-job training and professional development classroom training. You will participate in projects, work on solving problems, provide community service through our charity partners, and enjoy social events.  Our summer internship program offers the opportunity to build new skills and grow your professional network whilst providing an in-depth insight into career possibilities at MarketAxess.  

How You'll Help Take Us There

• Our interns will be working in the Client Services team, supporting co-workers and customers whilst using MarketAxess systems. 
• Interns will be able to develop a well-rounded view of the Operational structure within MarketAxess, with a focus on the team’s vital role in customer experience.  
• Client Services interns also have the benefit of working within a group that has many touch points throughout the firm providing them with the experience of working with teams such as, Sales, Trading, Developers, Production Support, Customer Integration and many more. 
• On the Client Services team, you are the firm’s first line of support.  
• You will assist clients with questions, requests, or issues they may have.  This can range anywhere from helping someone log into the system or navigate the trading platform, to identifying and raising potential future enhancements.  
• Following the internship, you will be given the opportunity to offer suggestions for any improvements you have identified, with a focus on automation opportunities.   

What We’re Looking for  

• Currently enrolled in a full-time bachelor’s or master’s degree program from an accredited college or university. This internship is intended for students with 2-3 semesters to complete until their degree is conferred 
• All majors considered although a degree in a Finance, Business or related field is preferred 
• MS Office Competency, specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint 
• Eye for detail coupled with analytical skills and critical thinking abilities 
• Highly focused, organized and detail oriented 
• Ability to take initiative and deal with ambiguity and changing priorities 
• Ability to identify opportunities for innovation and change 
• Ability to form and build strong working relationships  
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
• Desire to use your organizational and analytical skills in an operationally focused role 

For job positions in NYC, NY, and other locations where required, the estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is $30.00 USD per hour. Actual salary may vary depending on job-related factors, which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
