Major League Baseball is seeking an Operations Manager, Broadcasting, to oversee the daily operation of Pitchcast, Statcast and EVI ensuring smooth operations through effective supervision, scheduling, and training of a large part-time staff. This role will manage efficient workflows, drive operational enhancements, and maintain clear process documentation. This position ensures high-quality broadcasts, a well-trained team, and continual improvements in staffing and production efficiency to meet the MLB Broadcasting team’s strategic priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily operations of Pitchcast and Statcast products
  • Oversee hiring, onboarding, and scheduling of 75+ part-time employees
  • Manage billing and invoicing for MLB broadcast products
  • Ensure team members are properly trained across all areas of responsibility
  • Assess staffing needs and provide recommendations for improvements
  • Develop, maintain, and update process and procedure documentation
  • Maintain accurate logs of all elements that air across broadcasts
  • Design technical workflows for routing and communications required for broadcasts
  • Ensure correct feeds are available for both ingest and distribution of all products
  • Provide clips of high quality content from broadcast feeds for review
  • Collaborate with the Director of Production to optimize workflows for Pitchcast and Statcast operators
  • Partner with management on creative enhancements and process improvements
  • Serve as primary point of contact for Technical Services staff and Venue Techs, escalating in-game issues, as needed
  • Create and maintain style guides for Pitchcast, Statcast, Statcast 3D, and other AR/virtual technology products

Qualification & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in broadcasting, production, or a related field
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of baseball preferred
  • In-depth understanding of television production, ideally within sports broadcasting
  • Familiarity with advanced broadcast production tools, including graphics and augmented reality systems
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across production teams and executive stakeholders
  • Proven ability to manage projects, meet deadlines, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment

Salary Range: $85,000 - $110,000 (Base Salary) + Bonus

As a candidate for this position, your salary and related aspects of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, skills, and any other factors MLB considers relevant to the hiring decision.
