BAE Systems is seeking an Operations Program Manager to support our C4ISR Systems Team in Greenlawn NY. Responsibilities will include:
Program Leadership & Strategic Management
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for complex Operations programs across the full lifecycle, from proposal through client delivery and sign-off.
  • Manage multiple diverse teams, fostering a strong sense of teamwork and applying a strategic vision to create innovative solutions in a fast-changing environment.
  • Maintain state-of-the-art knowledge of industry theories, practices, and streamlined manufacturing methods.

Operations Coordination & Communication
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between Operations and the Program Office; present status updates and resolve issues for customers, Program Management, and Operations Management.
  • Chair weekly Tier team meetings (Manufacturing, Test, Reliability, QA, PM, IE, and Engineering) to resolve production cycle issues.
  • Interface with internal organizations to communicate and address changes impacting assigned tasks.
  • Support Program Managers during monthly reviews, customer visits, and discussions regarding future business activities.

Planning, Execution & Compliance
  • Generate and execute Manufacturing Plans in compliance with Statement of Work (SOW), Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and Management Directives.
  • Optimize factory level-loading based on capacity, contract requirements, and company revenue plans.
  • Oversee the end-to-end production flow, including reviewing drawings, approving change orders, and directing supply chain, production test, manufacturing, inspection, and shipping to meet delivery dates.
  • Manage program item data (LOB) and maintain accountability for all program goals through efficient resource utilization.

Financial & Proposal Management
  • Coordinate and oversee the development of competitively priced, accurate, and supportable cost proposals within budget and time constraints.
  • Monitor material costs and Cost Performance Index (CPI) for all assigned programs.
  • Review purchase order pricing to ensure adherence to proposed budgets.
  • Support negotiations, audits, and fact-finding missions to prevent arbitrary concessions.

Vendor & Supply Chain Management
  • Manage vendors throughout the production cycle, including on-site visits to verify program status and review recovery plans.
  • Provide direction to supply chain planners and focus factory buyers to ensure material availability and schedule adherence.
The role of the Operations Program Manager includes but is not limited to the following:Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this role, it will be performed full-time on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Bachelor's Degree and project/program management experience
  • Manage Operations performance against the baseline program plan by monitoring quality, schedule and cost performance of all Operations functions
  • Experience leading or contributing to conversation and program projects
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communications skills, strong presentation skills, collaboration with leadership and cross functional teams, and strong organization skills
  • Strong problem solving, accountable leadership and influencing skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, work complex issues, and ensure team meets deadlines.
  • Results oriented, ability to follow through on tasks, influence without authority, experience driving senior level decision making

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • 5 Years or more of Aerospace experience
  • PMP, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification
  • Familiarity or ability to lean manufacturing systems SAP, Solumina, and Tableau
  • Experience working in represented workforce environment
  • Acute problem solving and analytical abilities including process improvements or program management techniques
  • A hands-on leader who builds transparency, values collaboration, holds self and team accountable, empower the team to think beyond the tasks that drive value for the business

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $86580 - $147186
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
