Casper is looking for a Director of Logistics to join our Operations team in our New York City HQ.  This person will report into the VP of Operations and will work closely with Casper’s entire operational team to ensure the highest level of operations excellence.  You will have the opportunity to change the way sleep products are delivered to our customers, whether it be via courier or air freight, it's an opportunity to help lead an organization that has disrupted the way these products are purchased!

When you’re not catching zzz’s, this is what you’ll do: 

  • Run Casper’s supply chain logistics including inbound, outbound, international and courier services
  • responsible for a broad range of activities directly impacting programs, processes and continuous improvement, communication, metrics, and dashboards, tracking and reporting of goals and objectives, strategic imperatives, and ad hoc priorities supporting the pipeline and other on market products.
  • Responsible for order fulfilment and shipping process, ensuring product is available to our commercial and clinical customers on time and in full. 
  • Selecting and maintaining compliant, effective, and efficient Transportation Management processes and systems as well as Third-party logistics providers services. 
  • Determine most appropriate transportation modes and product tracking technologies. Ensuring security of transportation. 
  • Ensures compliant, safe, timely, efficient, and effective Warehousing and Materials Management operations, processes and systems that serve well the business needs. 
  • Responsible for managing reverse logistics and returns. 
  • Managing relationships with logistics partners, freight forwarders and other logistics partners. 
  • Responsible to create an appropriate Trade Compliance organization for import-export operations and compliance with all logistics licensing requirements. 
  • Drives analytical assessment and continuous improvement of the logistics operations and costs. Report and monitor performance, ensuring adherence to Logistics KPI scorecard.

Our dream candidate: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or logistics required- MBA preferred
  • 5+ years of experience managing supply chain logistics with an emphasis on demand commerce preferred.
  • Up to 20% domestic and international travel required.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in all aspects of parcel, freight, and intermodal transportation areas. 
  • Knowledge and practice of lean methodologies, logistics management, domestic and international transportation, and the systems’ processes and metrics that support continuous improvements. 
  • Excellent analytical skills and solid business acumen.
  • Working understanding of fundamental quality and regulatory compliance aspects with special focus on Good Distribution Practices. 
  • Experience in Logistics enabling information technologies: EDI, Bar coding, RFID, and others. 
  • Robust knowledge and experience of US Trade Compliance requirements. 
  • Demonstrable capability of consistently and continuously generating value and savings in the logistics processes and operations. 
  • Demonstrable ability of continuously improve supply chain performance and to consistently achieve KPI targets for service, cost, and quality. 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and lead teams. Show personal drive, inspire, and motivate others by being passionate for people and performance. 
  • Ability to build trustful relationships and to work collaboratively across multiple functions and stakeholders. 
  • Ability to think and act with patients and customers in mind and to translate that into actions across end-to-end supply chains.
