We are hiring a Head of Operational Risk to build our enterprise risk function. The Head of Operational Risk will report to the Senior Vice President of Operations and is a critical member of the Bread’s Leadership Team. Direct responsibilities include designing and implementing Bread’s Enterprise Risk Management framework, driving key risk initiatives, and providing risk management leadership across the organization.

Your role at Bread:

• Responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of Bread’s Enterprise Risk Management framework
• Partner with senior leadership to define risk appetite, risk profiles, and key risk metrics
• Develop and execute operational risk assessments to identify key areas of focus and priorities for the organization
• Build a monitoring and testing program to evaluate the adequacy of internal controls through continuous monitoring and testing, identifies opportunities and implements solutions to address deficiencies 
• Develop and maintain Enterprise Risk Management tools, practices, and strategies
• Review and recommend improvements to our risk policies and procedures to ensure adequacy versus industry best practices and regulatory requirements
• Oversees the preparation of Enterprise Risk Management reporting (Key Risk Indicators and Key Performance Indicators), communications, and present at relevant governance committees

What we are looking for:

• Undergraduate degree required; Master degree in risk management, accounting or business major preferred
• 8+ years of risk management experience in consumer financial services
• 4+ years in a leadership position in Risk Management, Audit, Compliance or related field
• Experience with internal and external audits, providing key material and findings while representing internal teams
• Experience designing, implementing and monitoring enterprise risk programs that includes process and control excellence, risk assessments, issue management/oversight, operational losses, testing, and management of regulatory requirements
• Results-oriented, dependable, and thrives operating at the startup pace and will enjoy the challenge of a rapidly evolving organization
• Strong ability to influence and build relationships across various stakeholders
• Proven ability to promote and embed a risk management culture across the organization
• Well connected in industry groups and research staying current on industry best practices 
• Excellent presentation, interpersonal, negotiation, written and oral communication skills
• 10% Travel
