About the Role

We are looking for an IT Operations Manager to create and maintain simple and intuitive technology experiences across our internal systems and products. This is an incredible opportunity for a seasoned IT leader to make their mark on a growing team. You will lay the foundations for our distributed expansion, and ensure infrastructure improvements align with company goals and be a champion of our culture of transparency and respect. You are a team player with the ability to collaborate effortlessly with multiple, sometimes distributed, stakeholders to develop creative solutions.

You Will

• Ensure people have the tools necessary to do their jobs while being compassionate, responsive, inventive, and effective.
• Elevate the abilities of our IT while collaborating with engineering and office experience teams.
• Support continuous improvements of our video/audio, hardware, and wifi capabilities leveraging usage information and other data.
• Manage hardware purchases, tracking, office IT assets, and software licenses.
• Coordinate with external vendors, such as procuring Internet connectivity from our ISP.
• Handle help-desk requests to reset passwords, repair laptops, and other requests as needed.
• Configure laptop profiles (ex: full disk encryption, firewalls, antivirus, imaging, back-ups).
• Partner with our security team to ensure corporate compliance.
• Handle set up and maintenance of our office network and VPN.
• Identify and address technical issues across the company.

The Expectations

In your first 30 days, you will work with your manager to assess the state of our IT and where it should be. You will also assume ownership of our corporate systems. We believe that it's important for you to take this first month to become familiar with our technology and our company.

Within 60 days, you will assume ownership of our internal systems, hardware management, Wifi, A/V, and technical setup.

After 3 months, you'll be fully integrated into the team. You will identify new opportunities for our IT infrastructure and maintain existing systems. You will also create repeatable policies and procedures to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the company’s IT.

As our team grows, you will also have the opportunity to grow the team to accommodate higher demands for support.

You Have

• 5+ years of experience in IT Engineering & Operations roles in a technology/startup environment.
• Experience with SaaS-based services (e.g. Google Suite, Okta, GitHub, Slack) and can quickly learn to integrate new ones.
• Experience in providing both Mac and PC support.
• A deep understanding of networking administration and operating systems.
• Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g. JAMF, Bash is a plus).
• Ability to perform hands-on IT support in conjunction with the team.
• Comfort juggling multiple projects and a stellar track record of managing priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
• Possess good interpersonal and communication skills and enjoy working with people.

I cut my teeth at Microsoft and then moved to AppNexus, where I built the support team from three employees to a global team. When not at the office, I can be found gardening, trying to build furniture in my back yard, or skiing, depending on the season.
