Senior Director of Operations
You are a proven and experienced operator who has a track record of scaling supply chain and other company processes through explosive growth. You enjoy building and training high functioning teams and have a passion for making data-driven decisions.
You will be a critical executive in the company and responsible for the efficiency of business — driving planning, supply chain, margin improvements. You will work closely with the retail, ecommerce, and finance team to support our explosive growth in the most capital efficient way.
Responsibilities
- Set up key systems and processes to build out best-in-class demand planning & production process and execute to never go out of stock
- Develop or refine existing inventory forecast and demand planning models based on future growth plans, financial considerations, and other internal goals
- Build and manage co packer relationships to maintain optimal lead time on production runs
- Oversee distribution partners and processes with a goal of driving margins improvements, creating systems that can scale and ensure fulfillment accuracy and on-time delivery metrics are maintaining optimal level
- Build out raw material procurement network and set up agreements with key suppliers to ensure supply chain consistency
- Drive cross-functional work to ensure seamless and agile collaboration between finance, operations, retail, and ecommerce to support demand
- Drive various initiatives to optimize contribution margin
- Build & establish a strong team with a leadership pipeline; coach and develop talent within each functional area of operations (production, fulfillment, planning, QA etc.)
- Lead the exploration and development of overseas manufacturing and distribution
- Quarterback the commercialization of new products and scaling up of their supply chain
Requirements
- 8+ years in CPG experience managing end-to-end supply chain management of a company that has gone through explosive growth (from 7 figures to high 8 figures in revenue or more)
- 3+ years of experience managing a growing team and working closely with cross-functional VP level executives
- In depth knowledge of ecommerce and retail fulfillment processes and experience managing both (must have experience fulfilling orders to Walmart and club channels like Costco or Sam’s Club)
- Strong experience managing copackers to ensure optimal lead times
- Proven track record of preventing out of stock issues
- Proven track record of identifying and implementing cost saving opportunities across COGS and fulfillment to drive optimal contribution margin for the business
- Outstanding project management skills with the ability to plan and coordinate workflow
- Experience building out international supply chains and distribution to support international expansion
- Calm and steady in the face of difficult decisions and uncertainty
- Highly collaborative and self-motivated with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent quantitative skills
- A hands-on "doer" — able to get into the weeds when needed, you don’t default to outsourcing tasks
- Confident holding both employees and external vendors to high standards
