Casper is looking for a Senior Director of Planning & Sales Operations to support the strategic growth of all our channels. This role will be overseeing and leading the planning & sales operations organizations, inclusive of merchandise planning, business planning, inventory management and allocation and sales operations. The Sr Director of Planning will report to the SVP of Commercial.

When you’re not catching zzz’s, this is what you’ll do

  • Oversee and lead team spanning merchandise planning, business planning, inventory management & allocation and sales operations
  • Build constructive and effective relationships with cross-functional business partners (ex. Merchandising, Channel heads and Operations) to define, develop and execute inventory, merchandising and operational strategies that drive revenue channel growth initiatives 
  • Be a strategic thought partner to the cross functional team by providing insight and visibility to business & product sales trends that are impacting the financial performance of the business
  • Own business and channel revenue forecasts to inform cross functional dependencies
  • Drive development of seasonal and annual financial targets
  • Manage, train and develop business planning organization to ensure business performance and trends inform strategic decision making
  • Partner to inform short and long term product assortment strategies for all channels for classifications, product mix and pricing that align with the Brand vision, financial plans, and customer experience goals
  • Drive SKU plan guidance to drive SKU productivity on quarterly/seasonal basis and eliminate unproductive SKUs
  • Drive inventory management best practices to improve productivity and maximize profit
  • Oversee inventory OTB process to ensure our inventory position across categories are maximized and efficient
  • Oversee inventory lifecycle management including clearance and exit strategies
  • Oversee allocation team and ensure inventory optimization 
  • Land standardization and build out reports to perform in-season selling analysis and post season hind-sighting for continuous improvement; be a thought leader as to automation and visualization of selling reports and dashboards
  • Establish and track key business KPIs across the planning organization
  • Lead sales operations team to ensure order management processes are efficient and optimized 

Our dream candidate is...

  • Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills 
  • 4 year university degree in Business, Finance, Merchandising or related fields
  • 10+ years of experience in a retail or wholesale environment, including time as a Planner, Buyer or Retail business analyst
  • Strategic thinker able to recognizes business opportunities and proven ability to proactively recommend strategies by building business case 
  • Demonstrated retail math ability and strong business acumen
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills
  • Strong product sense with proven experience in driving product assortments
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and identifying and developing top talent
  • Advance proficiency in Excel, Google Workspace
