Job Responsibilities
-Design, specification, provisioning and deployment of new systems in a rapidly growing AWS environment
-Working closely with developers to tune both the application stack and databases for optimal performance
-Help to refine internal processes and documentation
-Streamline infrastructure provisioning
-General systems maintenance tasks such as daily review of logs and alerts, managing resource usage, troubleshooting routine automated maintenance and backup processes, applying patches, etc.
-Diagnose and resolve internal system issues
-Write and maintain system scripts/utilities in Bash or Python as needed-Be a locus of knowledge and learning on the team and the wider company
-Help drive migration of legacy workloads to infrastructure-as-code, private cloud methodologies
-Execution of system-related operations, including off-hour maintenance as required-Managing cloud environments in accordance with company security guidelines.
-Developing and maintaining cloud solutions in accordance with best practices.
-Regularly reviewing existing systems and making recommendations for improvements.
-Understanding the needs for new initiatives to build scalable, distributed and high-performance computing cloud-based platform solutions on AWS-Stay current with industry trends, making recommendations as needed to help the company excel.
-Identifying, analyzing, and resolving infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issues.
Job Requirements
- BS in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or a related field
-5+ years experience with *NIX systems administration
-5+ years experience with AWS, administration, and troubleshooting.
-3+ years experience with AWS design, deployment, and configuration
-5+ years experience with Linux operating systems
-5+ years experience and demonstrated proficiency in bash and python
-5+ years experience with networking and demonstrated understanding of networking concepts
-4+ years experience with load balancing and HA environments
-2+ years experience with noSQL solutions (e.g., MongoDB, Hadoop, Redis)
-1+ years experience with Kubernetes
-4+ years experience with monitoring solutions
-2+ years experience with Terraform
