We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our Logistics team, with responsibility for growing and strengthening our network across all stakeholders globally. 

About the role:   

This role is fantastic for anyone wanting to create an impact in defining strategies that will play an important role for years to come for an industry leader. Working closely with our Supply Chain function, the Vice President of Logistics will report to the Global Head of Sourcing and Supply Chain and focus on driving and building a nimble logistics infrastructure for domestic and international transportation strategies, drive innovation and is proactive in pointing out opportunities for the business by leveraging the global logistics operation. This includes but is not limited to policies, processes, purchasing, technology, warehousing, freight forwarding, customs compliance and other related aspects of the logistics category.  

The key objective of this position is to design, implement and optimize a global supply chain to support the WeWork business and ensure a high degree of customer (business unit) satisfaction. 

Responsibilities: 

  •  Set the vision, strategic direction, expectations, and annual objectives for the overall logistics organization spanning the globe.

  • Lead the global logistics team, providing mentoring, doing reviews, identifying career paths and handling all performance-related items.

  • Partner with regional leadership, and align on a regular basis to drive overall strategy and initiatives

  • Drive cost initiatives to reduce the overall supply chain costs on a per unit basis. Drive the key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.  

  • Be a thought leader in identifying new technologies and drive the implementation roadmap. 

  • Manage the global relationship(s) with 3/4PL provider(s), freight forwarder, and related supplier relationships including the development, negotiation, and management of contracts.

  • Drive accountability and performance across suppliers and partner organizations. 

  • Design and ensure compliance with purchasing policies across the company. Oversee documentation, freight carrier coordination, tracking and tracing of all inbound and outbound shipments.

  • Maintain broad knowledge of worldwide market trends on logistics issues, regulatory and Customs issues, and other relevant factors. 

Requirements: 

  • 15+ years of work experience in developing and implementing global supply chain 

  • BS degree/certification in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or equivalent 

  • Professional background in logistics and supply chain 

  • Experience with WMS, OMS, TMS and related software 

  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and manage teams.

  • Excellent leadership, presentation, and influencing skills at both executive and peer level

  • A desire to succeed in a data-driven, fast-changing, and entrepreneurial environment

  • Ability to articulate the vision and roadmap for logistics development, including prioritization of tasks, allocation of resources and discouraging activities that are not aligned with the vision.

  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills in order to communicate effectively across all levels within the organization and multiple cultures.

  • Excellent knowledge of the logistics environment, encompassing global trade compliance, domestic distribution and international logistics.

  • Excellent knowledge of the end-to-end supply chain, with a clarity for understanding the importance and interdependencies associated with each stage of the process — Plan, Source, Make, Deliver.

  • Located in New York, relocation is required

Our headquarters in NYC sits in Chelsea, but our growing tech team works from our SoHo, Chelsea, and Greenwich Village offices.
