We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Engineer to implement and optimize our customer identity data model within Oracle Database. The data model design has been completed, and this role will focus on translating that model into a robust, secure, and high-performing Oracle database implementation. The engineer will be responsible for building database structures, developing stored procedures, optimizing performance, and ensuring seamless integration with upstream and downstream systems.

Location: Tampa, Florida (Hybrid – 2 to 3 days onsite per week)

Employment Type: Contract, up to 6 months

Key Responsibilities

  • Database Implementation
    • Translate the completed identity data model into physical Oracle database structures (tables, indexes, partitions, constraints, etc.).
    • Develop and implement database schema, ensuring adherence to design standards and performance best practices.
    • Implement stored procedures, triggers, and functions to support identity workflows and data transformations.
  • Performance & Optimization
    • Optimize queries, indexing strategies, and database structures for scalability and performance.
    • Conduct capacity planning, performance tuning, and troubleshooting of database-related issues.
  • Security & Compliance
    • Implement appropriate security controls, access permissions, and auditing in alignment with identity and access management requirements.
    • Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and organizational security standards.
  • Collaboration & Integration
    • Work closely with identity architects, IAM engineers, and application teams to ensure seamless integration with identity services.
    • Support ETL processes, data migrations, and integrations with other enterprise systems.
  • Operations & Support
    • Develop database documentation, operational procedures, and support guides.
    • Provide ongoing maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting for the Oracle database environment.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Database (12c, 19c, or later), including schema design, PL/SQL development, and performance tuning.
  • Proven experience implementing enterprise-scale data models, preferably in identity management, security, or customer data domains.
  • Solid understanding of data modeling concepts (relational, dimensional, normalization, indexing strategies).
  • Experience with Oracle performance optimization tools, query tuning, and partitioning.
  • Knowledge of Oracle security features (roles, privileges, auditing, data masking, encryption).
  • Familiarity with ETL, data migration, and integration best practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working on identity data models or within IAM/IGA solutions (e.g., SailPoint, Oracle Identity, Okta).
  • Exposure to cloud-hosted Oracle databases (OCI, AWS RDS for Oracle, or Azure).
  • Knowledge of data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA) in relation to database design and security.
  • Experience with DevOps/automation for Oracle DB (e.g., Liquibase, Flyway, or CI/CD pipelines for DB deployments) #LI-RJ1
