Job Description

As Director of Paid Search, you will lead strategic SEM initiatives across enterprise-level clients, translating business objectives into scalable, performance-driven search programs. This role combines deep channel expertise with team leadership, process improvement, and client relationship management. You will drive innovation in paid search strategy, champion operational excellence, and mentor a high-performing team—all while delivering measurable results and business growth.

Strategic Leadership

  • Serve as the strategic advisor for key clients, aligning paid search initiatives with business objectives.

  • Architect delivery and testing strategies, forecasting, and campaign planning for top-tier accounts.

  • Represent paid search in integrated media planning, collaborating with Account, Analytics, and Creative teams.

  • Proactively provide insights and recommendations to clients during QBRs and annual planning sessions.

Client Management

  • Act as the primary client contact for all search-related strategy and performance.

  • Manage scope, project plans, launch timelines, and delivery expectations to ensure top-tier service.

  • Present data-driven insights, performance trends, and growth opportunities during quarterly/annual business reviews.

  • Manage client expectations through clear communication, timely updates, and high-quality deliverables.

Campaign Excellence

  • Oversee campaign implementation, optimization, and performance management across Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, SA360, and emerging platforms.

  • Guide keyword expansion, ad copy development, audience targeting, and bidding strategies.

  • Ensure adherence to best practices, data accuracy, and quality control processes.

Team Management & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of paid search specialists, fostering a culture of learning, collaboration, and accountability.

  • Build and manage project plans, scopes, and timelines to ensure on-time, high-quality delivery.

  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and support personal development plans for team members.

  • Champion cross-functional collaboration with Creative, Analytics, Account Management, and Executive teams.

Process & Innovation

  • Identify and implement process improvements to streamline workflows and increase operational efficiency.

  • Maintain strong vendor relationships and stay informed on platform updates, algorithm changes, and search marketing trends to maintain a competitive edge.

  • Collaborate with internal task forces, support new business pitches, and contribute to broader agency initiatives.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Analytics, or a related field—or equivalent experience.

  • 8+ years in digital marketing with a deep focus on Paid Search.

  • Proven success managing large-scale search campaigns

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.

Technical Skills

  • Expertise in Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, Search Ads 360 (SA360), and Google Analytics.

  • Proficient in Google Suite (Sheets, Slides, Docs).

  • Familiarity with other analytics platforms (Omniture, Webtrends) and SEM tools (Google Ads Editor, Bing Ads Editor).
