We are stage agnostic. The Role

We are seeking a Crypto Finance Partner to support the Crypto vertical, one of the firm’s most dynamic and fast-moving business areas. This role will help manage the vertical’s full P&L, drive forecasting and reporting cycles, and partner closely with Crypto leadership to support strategic and operational decisions. You will work at the intersection of traditional finance and the rapidly evolving crypto ecosystem—developing insights, ensuring financial accuracy, and supporting programs that shape the vertical’s growth.

The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a genuine passion for and experience with crypto and blockchain technology. You should be excited to learn quickly, navigate ambiguity, and build financial structure in a frontier environment. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role with close collaboration across Accounting, HR, Fund Strategy, and Central Finance, as well as direct exposure to Crypto leadership and program owners.

This role will report into the Operating Partner and the day-to-day business partner will be the COO for the crypto vertical.

This role will be based out of either New York or Menlo Park / San Francisco. Our firm’s in-office expectations align with what each primary business partner requires. A reasonable assumption for now is two days per week.

To join our team, you should be excited to:
  • P&L management for the crypto vertical:
    • Maintain the Crypto P&L, including fees, personnel, expenses, and margins
    • Manage management fee visibility and updates, partnering with vertical and central teams
    • Track hiring plans and personnel forecasts with HR and leadership
  • Monthly close, forecasting & reporting:
    • Lead the monthly scrub cycle with Accounting and ensure accurate coding
    • Deliver variance analysis, forecast updates, and key insights
    • Maintain a rolling outlook and surface major shifts or risks
  • Partnership across Crypto sub-teams:
    • Support expense reporting and act as a budget contact for Crypto teams
    • Manage spend visibility for Crypto-specific programs with accurate forecasting
  • Margin tracking, affordability & scenario analysis:
    • Monitor margin targets and affordability guardrails
    • Build scenarios to compare spending options and investment tradeoffs
    • Identify risks and recommend adjustments
  • Data integrity & reporting infrastructure:
    • Maintain clean Planful data and alignment across Accounting, HR, and other inputs
    • Improve forecasting templates, dashboards, and reporting workflows
    • Ensure consistent KPIs and financial frameworks across the vertical
  • Cross-functional collaboration:
    • Work with Accounting on month-end close and reconciliations
    • Coordinate fee, personnel, and expense updates across Finance, HR, and IT
Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in FP&A, investment banking, private equity or consulting
  • Direct crypto or blockchain experience will be prioritized
  • Belief in the potential of crypto and blockchain, with a genuine curiosity about the crypto ecosystem
  • Strong financial modeling, analytical thinking, and Excel/Sheets skills
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, or financial reporting
  • Ability to communicate insights simply and clearly to non-finance stakeholders
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with evolving priorities
  • Low ego, high empathy, and the capacity to collaborate effectively with diverse teams
Capabilities
  • Learning mindset: curious, proactive, and eager to understand business drivers
  • Analytical rigor: able to dive into data, pressure-test conclusions, and identify underlying trends
  • Collaboration and stakeholder management: strong communication skills and comfort working across functions and levels
  • Ownership mentality: takes responsibility for details, deadlines, and follow-through
  • Adaptability: comfortable with ambiguity, change, and iterative execution
  • Precision & scalability: committed to clean data, consistent structure, and reliable reporting

The anticipated salary range for this role is between $248,000 - $289,000, actual starting pay may vary based on a range of factors which can include experience, skills, and scope.
