Job Title: Payroll Analyst

Location: Laos

Main Job Purpose

As a Payroll Analyst, you will provide payroll expertise to Unilever Cambodia & Laos — covering process, policy, technical support, and governance. You will play a key role in driving the local payroll strategy, ensuring systems, processes, and policies are consistently implemented, including managing third‑party payroll relationships.

You will also lead and support global payroll projects at the local level (e.g., Global Mobility, Global Equity, Employee Experience, and new technologies). A key part of your role includes building strong relationships with payroll vendors, identifying risks or gaps, and ensuring mitigation plans are in place. You are expected to share knowledge across the HR and Payroll community and actively participate in the Global Payroll Community of Practice.

In addition to payroll responsibilities, you will support various ad hoc HR-related activities requiring on‑ground coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service Management

  • Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders and act as the main point of contact for payroll-related inquiries.
  • Analyze feedback from the HR community and service providers to continuously improve payroll solutions.
  • Monitor and review service level targets; resolve issues and drive improvements where recurring risks are identified.
  • Proactively communicate payroll updates and insights; provide input to monthly service reviews.
  • Collaborate with Payroll and HR outsourced service providers to ensure effective delivery of payroll services.
  • Ensure Payroll and Time & Absence systems, processes, and policies are compliant with internal standards and external regulations.

Programme Management

  • Define key activities needed to drive the payroll strategy and align with stakeholders and expertise teams.
  • Support countries with guidance during implementation of local changes resulting from global projects.
  • Cascade global changes clearly to ensure payroll vendors can understand and implement them effectively.
  • Gather organizational feedback and relay it to payroll vendors to support continuous improvement of the solution design.

Transition Management

  • Serve as the key gatekeeper for managing external relationships with payroll vendors.
  • Facilitate payroll transition activities, ensuring adherence to project governance and delivery standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of payroll experience, including end‑to‑end payroll execution and HRM operations.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll best practices and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Experience using Workday and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to identify issues and errors.
  • Strong understanding of third‑party contract compliance, including data protection.
  • Experience in vendor management and project management.
