Position Overview
Broadway’s biggest payroll service is growing and seeking a payroll coordinator to work in payroll processing. We’re looking for a highly motivated individual with a background in payroll administration, accounting, banking, or tax preparation along with the abilities and organizational skills to make the most of this opportunity. Must be proficient in Excel, and comfortable in a variety of programs, as well as familiar with the basics of payroll taxes and processing, including tax deductions, Forms 941 and 940, multi-state filings, and 401K and Sect 125 deductions. Familiarity with live entertainment and union payroll is a plus.

Essential Functions

  • Input and process payrolls for live theatre clients

  • Onboarding new hires

  • Print and distribute payroll packages at least one day per week

  • Create custom reports for clients as requested

  • Review and distribute union vacation accrual reports

  • Update and maintain client and employee data in payroll software

  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of payroll taxes and processing, including tax deductions, Forms 941 and 940, multi-state filings, and 401K and Sect 125 deductions preferred.

  • HS Diploma, GED or equivalent required. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience preferred.

  • Meticulous nature and attention to detail are paramount.

  • Comfortable working with clients.

  • Able to meet firm deadlines on a tight schedule.

  • Proficiency in Excel.

  • Must have ability to work overtime as needed. 

 

Special Work Conditions             

  • Sedentary – Involves sitting most of the time but does involve walking or standing for periods of time to package payrolls. May entail exerting up to 15 lbs. of force and/or a negligible amount of force to lift, carry, push, or pull.

  • Position works in office in New York City 2 to 3 days per week on a pre-determined schedule.

Compensation is commensurate with various factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, qualifications, skills, training, licensure, certifications, geographic cost of labor, and other business and organizational needs. Compensation range for candidates in other locations may differ based on the cost of labor in that location. The compensation range for this position is: $24.00 - $32.00 per hour.
