Responsible for processing payroll, maintaining payroll data, preparing financial reports, and performing financial analysis and record maintenance under supervision.
Comunilife is looking for an experienced Payroll/Senior Finance Associate to join our Finance Team. Under the supervision of the Director of Payroll, analyzes, prepares, and inputs payroll data , uses electronic systems to track time and leave and produce accurate and timely payrolls; ensures compliance with all applicable state and federal wage and hour laws, bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports (gross payroll, hours worked, vacation and sick accruals, tax deductions, benefits deductions, garnishments, etc. Reports to the Director of Payroll. Under the supervision of the Assistant Controller of RE, responsible for a broad range of basic financial functions, including but not limited to managing accounting duties, bank reconciliations, preparing reports, monthly close for the real estate portfolio. Using metrics and data analytics to support the Assistant Controller of RE internal and external in monthly reporting. Essential Duties:
PAYROLL:
- Under the supervision of the Director of Payroll, pays employees by the centralized processing of bi-weekly payrolls and issuing paychecks or direct deposits to bank accounts.
- Maintains payroll information/tables/files by directing the collection, calculation, and entering of data; overseeing the maintenance of systems tables and files to ensure accurate and timely payments and reporting.
- Prepares reports and provides payroll information by reviewing/compiling summaries of earnings, direct deposits, federal payroll taxes, garnishments, and other deductions; extracting data from system files and tables for specialized reporting; coordinating with the Director of Payroll.
- Determines the accuracy of payroll information by balancing the payroll accounts and resolving payroll discrepancies; under the supervision of the Director of Payroll, coordinates the payroll interface process to accurately report payroll costs on the general ledger.
- Collaborates with employees and management to communicate various payroll related policies, procedures, laws, standards, and government regulations.
- Assists the Human Resource Department with issues related to withholding, certain employee benefits (e.g. health, life insurance, unemployment, and workers compensation), and other HR or Finance related issues such as job codes under the supervision of the Director of Payroll.
- Provides administrative support, such as but not limited to, correspondence generation, record keeping, file maintenance, and payroll management data entry.
FINANCIAL ANALYSIS:
- Accounts payable and receivable: ensures accurate transaction records and performing procedures for accounts payable and receivable for RE portfolio
- Financial reporting: prepares monthly financial reports under supervision of the Assist Controller of RE
- Financial record maintenance: maintains financial records to support accounting activities
- Budget and grant management: works with the grant management team to ensure expenses are properly allocated between RE and grants GLs
- Audit and reconciliation: assists the Assist Controller of RE with audits and reconciliations
- Payroll: prepares payroll intercompany entries, documents transactions under supervision of
- Data entry: supports the team with data entry related to clerical and administrative tasks
Education and Experience Requirement(s)
A Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a related degree and four (3) years of experience in a professional/administrative capacity. Any combination of education and/or work experience will substitute for minimum qualifications.
