 Why Charlie Health?

Millions of people across the country are navigating mental health conditions, substance use disorders, and eating disorders, but too often, they’re met with barriers to care. From limited local options and long wait times to treatment that lacks personalization, behavioral healthcare can leave people feeling unseen and unsupported.

Charlie Health exists to change that. Our mission is to connect the world to life-saving behavioral health treatment. We deliver personalized, virtual care rooted in connection—between clients and clinicians, care teams, loved ones, and the communities that support them. By focusing on people with complex needs, we’re expanding access to meaningful care and driving better outcomes from the comfort of home.

As a rapidly growing organization, we're reaching more communities every day and building a team that’s redefining what behavioral health treatment can look like. If you're ready to use your skills to drive lasting change and help more people access the care they deserve, we’d love to meet you.

About the Role

We are looking for a People Operations Associate to join our growing People team at Charlie Health. This role is a core execution role within People Operations, responsible for owning high-volume employee lifecycle processes with accuracy, consistency, and strong attention to detail.
As a People Operations Associate, you will manage onboarding, offboarding, employee changes, and employment verifications end-to-end, working across systems such as UKG, Jira, and Monday.com. You will serve as a primary point of contact for new hires and managers, coordinate closely with IT and Talent, and ensure employee data and documentation are accurate and compliant.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their People Operations career who is highly organized, systems-oriented, comfortable working with data, and eager to build strong operational foundations in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

We’re a team of passionate, forward-thinking professionals eager to take on the challenge of the mental health crisis and play a formative role in providing life-saving solutions. If you’re inspired by our mission and energized by the opportunity to increase access to mental healthcare and impact millions of lives in a profound way, apply today.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end onboarding in UKG, including data entry, background checks, I-9 verification, and document collection
  • Track onboarding progress in Monday.com and coordinate with Talent, IT, and People Ops to ensure timely completion
  • Partner with IT to support system provisioning and resolve common access issues
  • Communicate proactively with new hires and managers throughout onboarding
  • Manage end-to-end offboarding in Jira, including exit documentation, system deactivation, and coordination with Payroll and Benefits
  • Process employee changes (e.g., promotions, transfers, reporting updates, personal data changes) and prepare and send updated employee letters
  • Complete employment verifications (VOEs) accurately and within SLAs
  • Maintain accurate, compliant employee personnel files and sensitive documentation
  • Respond to and resolve People Ops tickets and inbox requests within scope, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • QA all work before closure and follow documented SOPs
  • Identify recurring issues and suggest incremental process improvements
  • Support basic People Ops reporting and Excel-based data tasks
  • Escalate complex, sensitive, or compliance-related issues to a People Ops Generalist or Lead

Requirements

  • Able to work a hybrid schedule of 4 days/week in our NYC office and located within 45 minutes’ commuting distance of the office
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 1–3 years of experience in People Operations, Human Resources, or an administrative/operations role with similar responsibilities
  • Experience executing employee lifecycle processes such as onboarding, offboarding, and employee changes
  • Comfort working across multiple systems and tools; experience with HRIS platforms (UKG preferred) and ticketing/workflow tools (e.g., Jira, Monday.com) is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines
  • Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills with a service-oriented approach
  • Demonstrated ability to follow SOPs while exercising good judgment on when to escalate issues
  • Strong Excel skills, including working with formulas, filters, sorting, and basic data validation; comfort reviewing and reconciling data across sources
