About the Role

The Platform Infrastructure team at iCapital plays a critical role in keeping the production and development environments running smoothly and securely.  This role will utilize advanced cloud capabilities to facilitate the Platform Infrastructure strategy of market agility and learn operating principles with a strict focus on quality to meet the ever-growing demands of our clients. iCapital is seeking a highly collaborative, creative and intellectually curious Platform Engineer who is passionate about forming and implementing cutting-edge cloud computing capabilities.  This individual will take on diverse responsibilities in a prominent role, engaging in various facets of the business.

Responsibilities

  • Provide FIX Protocol support for institutional trading clients, equity trading, and client integrations.
  • Support proprietary interfaces for various OMS vendors.
  • Drive the client on-boarding process through pre- and post-sales technical advice.
  • As a member of the Platform Infrastructure team, you will be involved in building highly available solutions across the entire SDLC stack with primary focus on an internet facing fintech site.
  • You will be responsible for developing and maintaining tools to support the development environment on MacOS and Linux tool environment with a focus on improving developer productivity.
  • You will also be part of the team responsible for maintaining Site reliability with focus on building highly scalable systems integrating resiliency and high availability at all levels.
  • Develop software and tooling to secure and automate cloud infrastructure building software delivery capabilities with fully automatic workflows.
  • Design and operation of a Kubernetes environment for container management and orchestration.
  • Experience with distributed systems design, maintenance, and hands-on troubleshooting and debugging skills.


Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in technology preferably on the buy-side, sell-side, or with a trading vendor
  • 5+ years of professional experience supporting electronic trading
  • 5+ years of FIX Protocol certification/connectivity experience
  • 5+ years of DevOps, TechOps or SRE experience with 2+ years of AWS experience
  • Knowledge of at least one buy-side or sell side order management system preferred
  • Microservices (Docker, Kubernetes) experience in a production environment strongly desired
  • Strong Linux OS-level and command-line/scripting knowledge and configuration management principles
  • Working knowledge of databases such as MongoDB, Postgres, DynamoDB
  • Coding beyond simple scripting with strong opinions on maintainable and reusable code in Python, Ruby or Java is desired
  • Experience with computer provisioning on a Cloud based platform using Terraform or Cloud formation
  • Exceptional analytical skills, able to apply knowledge and experience in decision-making to arrive at creative and commercial solutions
  • Experience building a Microservice based architecture
  • Good written and spoken communication skills
  • Able to design and implement complex, but easily managed, automated infrastructure
  • Enthusiasm for sharing knowledge, teaching, and learning within a team environment
  • Expert level knowledge of networking
  • Experience with at least one version of FIX - FIX 4.2, FIX 4.4, or FIX 5.0
  • Experience with debugging issues with the FIX protocol to include maintaining/establishing fix sessions and/or session management + order routing
  • Experience in system tuning and performance testing
  • AWS certifications are a plus


Benefits

The base salary range for this role is $120,000 to $160,000.  iCapital offers a compensation package which includes salary, equity for all full-time employees, and an annual performance bonus. We believe the best ideas and innovation happen when we are together. Employees in this role will work in the office Monday-Thursday, with the flexibility to work remotely on Friday.
