Job Description

As a PR Specialist , you are responsible for supporting fashion publicity initiatives in the U.S. and Canada, positioning H&M as an aspirational brand through top-tier press coverage, brand activations and events. You will partner closely with cross-functional commercial teams to adapt global fashion projects to ensure relevance in the sales market. This role is responsible for cultivating relationships with influential journalists and internal stakeholders to drive storytelling around key launches and campaigns to elevate brand perception and help drive business goals.
This hybrid role reports into our Senior Public Relations Lead USA-CA-PR and is based out of New York.
A Day in the Life
Working at H&M means no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will include the following responsibilities*
•    You drive fashion publicity for H&M in the U.S. and Canada, executing holistic earned media strategies across print, digital, broadcast, and non-traditional communications channels 
•    Possess a strong understanding of evolving media landscape and maintain relationships with journalists and influencers to  adapt H&M’s global fashion PR plan and build and maintain local PR calendar, incorporating key cultural moments to ensure local relevance 
•    Actively monitor fashion industry news and ideate new ways to generate exposure and excitement around the brand  
•    Foster strong collaborative relationships with local cross-functional teams to identify short-term and long-term actions to support H&M’s PR initiatives
•    Proactively seek new opportunities for external partnerships and event opportunities to amplify H&M’s fashion offering and expose the brand to strategic audiences
•    Draft and edit press materials including press releases, messaging documents and pitches
•    Work with and support our corporate communications/media relations team on ad-hoc projects and planning
•    Responsible for data, analytics and reporting, possessing a firm understanding of how media coverage can drive impact for the brand and business
•    Manage and liaise with external agencies, consultants and partners
•    Foster a close collaboration with the talent relations teamto maximize synergies between paid and earned relationships including but not limited to showroom appointments, gifting events 
•    Who You Are: 
•    College Degree in Communication, Marketing or PR or equivalent years of working experience.
•    Possess 2-4 years of experience in media or Fashion PR in an agency or in-house capacity  
•    Exceptional interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
•    Detail oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
•    Able to think and work strategically; able to plan ahead and foresee opportunities.
•    Extremely creative and solution driven.
•    Keen interest and sense of fashion with natural inclination for style.
•    Strong brand ambassador and professional maturity.  
•    Required to travel up to 25% of the year both locally and internationally.

Additional Information

​Compensation: salary range is $66,793 - $75,142
