The Pricing Architect is responsible for designing and governing the enterprise pricing architecture across sales contracts, cost-plus pricing models, commodity index pricing, hedging allocation, and margin governance. This role ensures that pricing processes are scalable, auditable, and fully integrated with core ERP platforms such as SAP ECC / SAP S/4HANA and external pricing platforms like CPQ and pricing optimization tools.
The architect will collaborate with commercial, finance, and risk management teams to ensure pricing strategies align with enterprise financial and operational goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • 1. Pricing Architecture & Strategy
  • Design and implement end-to-end pricing architecture covering:
  • Cost-plus pricing
  • Commodity index pricing
  • Hedge allocation
  • Margin governance
  • Define pricing data models, pricing calculation logic, and governance frameworks across ERP and pricing platforms.
  • Establish scalable pricing frameworks that support enterprise-wide pricing strategies.
  • 2. Solution Design & Integration
  • Architect integrations between SAP (ECC / S/4HANA) and external pricing platforms such as PROS, Vendavo, Salesforce CPQ, and Zilliant.
  • Ensure alignment with SAP pricing conditions, Material Ledger, and contract management processes.
  • Define data flows between pricing systems, finance systems, and contract management platforms.
  • 3. Commodity & Hedge Pricing Governance
  • Design architecture supporting commodity index-based pricing and hedging allocation.
  • Ensure traceability between hedge positions, customer contracts, deliveries, and financial postings.
  • Enable contract exposure management and pricing transparency.
  • 4. Margin & Risk Governance
  • Implement pricing governance mechanisms including:
  • Margin thresholds
  • Approval workflows
  • Audit controls
  • Provide architecture for pricing analytics, margin monitoring, and exposure reporting.
  • 5. Vendor & Platform Evaluation
  • Evaluate pricing technology platforms and recommend solutions aligned with enterprise requirements.
  • Lead architecture decisions for CPQ, pricing optimization, and revenue management platforms.
  • Work with vendors to define integration architecture and solution scalability.
  • 6. Compliance & Audit Alignment
  • Ensure pricing architecture supports financial compliance standards such as IFRS reporting and audit traceability.
  • Maintain governance over pricing rules, approval workflows, and audit trails.

Required Experience

  • Experience in enterprise pricing architecture, preferably within manufacturing or commodity-based industries.
  • Strong understanding of cost-plus pricing, commodity index pricing, and margin governance.
  • Hands-on experience integrating SAP pricing with external CPQ or pricing engines.
  • Knowledge of hedging exposure management and financial traceability.
  • Experience working with SAP ECC / S4HANA pricing frameworks and pricing optimization platforms.
