About the role
Working closely with underwriting teams and stakeholders across the business, you’ll lead on the technical aspects of pricing models, admitted rate filings and portfolio optimisation. As we continue to build a best‑in‑class pricing function, this role offers high visibility and the opportunity to make a tangible impact on business performance and decision‑making.

- Developing and maintaining pricing frameworks and methodologies across CFC’s products, including setting technical prices and contributing to suggested prices.
- Partnering with Pricing Operations on the testing, implementation, documentation and maintenance of pricing tools, ensuring alignment with approved rate filings.
- Ensuring all admitted rate filings are actuarially sound, compliant and defensible, meeting state‑specific regulatory requirements, ASOPs and internal policies.
- Providing actuarial support for market conduct reviews and audits, clearly explaining pricing methodologies, data sources and controls.
- Staying up to date with US insurance regulatory developments and emerging Department of Insurance expectations.
- Working cross‑functionally with underwriting, claims, product and IT teams to identify emerging risks and claims trends and reflect these appropriately in pricing tools.
- Conducting detailed pricing and portfolio analyses to review rating structures, assumptions and experience, enhancing risk selection and long‑term profitability.
- Developing and monitoring KPIs to support portfolio optimisation and strategic decision‑making.
- Supporting risk appetite and risk tolerance setting in line with the business plan.
- Contributing to pricing analysis for portfolio transfers and new product development.
- Coaching and training junior team members and wider stakeholders on pricing theory and best practice.
About you
This is an experienced and highly skilled role, so we expect you to be a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS), with:
- Demonstrable, in‑depth experience in admitted and E&S pricing within a commercial insurer, broker or MGA, with particular focus on P&C (BOP), Cyber and E&O lines.
- Strong knowledge of US insurance regulation, admitted rate filings and actuarial standards of practice.
- Proven experience working closely with underwriters and senior internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical, quantitative and data‑modelling skills, with a strong commercial mindset.
- Strong IT skills, including advanced Excel (VBA) and SQL; Python, R or other programming languages are desirable.
