ASAPP’s Generative Agent team is seeking an enterprising, experienced and curious ML engineer to help lead major technical initiatives and explorations. This role will be focused on building our products, being a technical leader for teams that are architecting and engineering systems, and straddling between engineering and research to bring in innovations.
Candidates should have demonstrated skill in architecting and creating scalable production-grade products that are built around LLMs, with intimate knowledge of technical details from data pipelines to modeling and the design of features that leverage model capabilities. Candidates will be expected to regularly interface with Research teams and should be comfortable charting out research roadmaps and brainstorming ideas. Additionally, candidates should be comfortable providing technical leadership, mentoring for junior engineers and would be expected to be hands-on in the development process.
What you'll do
- Play a major role in building products leveraging the latest innovations around LLMs and agentic systems
- Work closely with teams across ASAPP, including Product, Research and Platform / Infrastructure
- Keep up with and apply the latest innovations from the NLP / Speech community that could impact our product
Required Qualifications
- Strong architectural skills, with proven experience designing complex software systems
- Strong engineering skills, with at least an intermediate level skill in Python
- Demonstrated ability in leading technical teams
- Experience implementing technical solutions, tackling tough engineering problems to help build our products
- Experience building and deploying production ML models to solve real-world problems
- Experience bringing cutting-edge innovation to production
- A Master’s Degree in a field of science, technology, engineering or math, or equivalent hands-on experience
- Desire to learn new things, work closely with peers from different teams, and open to teach and learn from others
Nice to Have
- A Masters degree in CS and / or at least 15 years of experience building scalable enterprise software
- Experience building AI products for the enterprise market
- A publication record in NLP
