The BC&P Creative Excellence & GTM team is on a mission to transform marketing and become a best-in-class marketing organization through our customer-first, personalized marketing approach. We are focused on creating seamless experiences for each customer at a 1:1 level across all touchpoints. This role is accountable for building Customer marketing strategies and supporting campaign execution, all powered by our enhanced technology, real-time data and advanced analytic models. The role will allow you to flex muscles in emerging customer lifecycle marketing strategies, new and innovative marketing technologies, and marketing across several channels. Successful marketers in this role will be able to tie together key marketing and business results, bring several large and complex workstreams into market, work across multiple marketing channels, build powerful relationships across a variety of partners and stakeholders, storytell for business impact, and most importantly, they have the desire to change how we "do marketing" at Capital One.

General Responsibilities:
  • Develop insight-driven Customer Marketing strategies that include positioning and messaging, go-to-market plans, and testing recommendations.
  • Lead launches of several large and complex marketing programs and campaigns, from intent development to execution.
  • Help drive more and optimized usage of key Martech platforms, which includes owning the launch of some new platform use cases.
  • Own the transformation process of how servicing communication is handled in BC&P by auditing what assets are currently in market, optimizing key assets, and developing new guidelines and processes for how BC&P should approach servicing communications.
  • Work cross-functionally with a variety of partners that include, but are not limited to, Campaign Operations, Channel owners, Tech teams, Product teams, Legal & Compliance, 3rd party vendors and more.
  • Write clear and concise test documents and test plans.
  • Translate and communicate business goals into effective creative briefs.
  • Read, interpret, and use data (inclusive of visualization) to make informed decisions.
  • Manage creative development (with internal creative teams or agency partners) to ensure marketing is on-brand, high quality, aligned to our strategic intent and delivered on schedule.
  • Lead research work streams that drive actionable insights for our business or marketing teams.
  • Analyze customer behavior data to identify opportunities and optimal segments to optimize marketing tests and strategies.
  • Understand and help define the intersection of marketing strategy & marketing technology.
  • Contribute to articulating the future state of how we want marketing to work at Capital One, particularly driving how our marketing strategy evolves.
  • Proactively identifies opportunities for expansions, optimizations and improvements based on industry trends and marketing best practices.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Military experience
  • At least 3 years of Marketing experience
  • At least 2 years of Customer Marketing experience
  • At least 1 year of experience with Marketing technology tools and platforms

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters Degree in Marketing, Business or Communications
  • 5+ years of Marketing experience
  • 3+ years of Customer Marketing experience
  • 2+ years of experience with Marketing technology tools and platforms

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean, VA: $120,800 - $137,900 for Principal Associate, Marketing
New York, NY: $131,800 - $150,500 for Principal Associate, Marketing
Richmond, VA: $109,900 - $125,400 for Principal Associate, Marketing
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
