The Principal Business Analyst is part of the Emerging Products and Solutions (EPS) department, which resides on the Strategic Solutions team and reports to the Senior Director of EPS Strategic Solutions. As our Principal Business Analyst, you will be a key business partner to the organization, providing strategic support and enabling value-added, data-driven analysis to support timely business decisions. The Principal Business Analyst will develop a consistent way to articulate business value and translate business needs by recommending the tools, processes, data, and resources needed to effectively support the Emerging Products and Solutions organizational strategies. This individual will provide overall analyst support and work collaboratively across the organization to develop business cases, requirements, dashboards, metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to help manage the business.

What You'll Do:

  • Collaborate cross functionally across CIS with relevant stakeholders, subject matter experts, users, and leaders to elicit and document business requirements and support accurate translation of those requirements into effective services solutions

  • Create a bridge between business requirements and user stories to technical requirements for developers and provide suggestions during the development stage that will meet customer business needs

  • Evaluate new relevant product and service developments and evolving business requirements and recommend appropriate alternatives and/or enhancements to current offerings by analyzing business processes, systems, and industry standards and best practices

  • Provide in-depth and sophisticated analysis with interpretive thinking to define problems, develop innovative solutions, and influence strategic functional decisions

  • Perform trend analysis and actively evaluate program and service performance to identify potential risk and opportunity areas by offering, member category, sub-category, and refine data opportunities as needed

  • Understand the user community, data sources and integrations, system interfaces, and cross-departmental usage of desired functionality

  • Understand the data flow, integrations, and cross-departmental usage and impact of changes for assigned services

  • Build and maintain process flow, documenting current state and future state for new program launches as well as maintaining accurate and up to date processes as programs evolve and achieve operational excellence

  • Collaborate with the internal readiness and training organization to ensure new functionalities are clearly documented and reflected accurately in training

  • Create comprehensive test plans with measurable testing criteria

  • Demonstrate excellent problem solving, analytical, and communication skills

  • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technology or related field*

  • 10+ years’ experience as a business analyst or equivalent role, interacting with non-technical stakeholders to elicit, document, and confirm the accuracy of business requirements

  • 5+ years of experience successfully leading and facilitating requirements gathering sessions with a diverse set of technical and non-technical project participants

  • 5+ years’ experience working as a member of an Agile team using Scrum and/or Kanban based approaches   

  • Ability to effectively communicate business processes through the use of written user stories, context diagrams, and swim lane workflows

  • Experience designing comprehensive test plans with measurable testing criteria

  • Strong problem solving, analytical, and communication skills

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

It's a Plus if You Have:

  • Advanced degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field

  • International Institute of Business Analysis – Agile Analysis Certification or similar

  • 5+ years working with Jira and Confluence work management and collaboration tools

  • 5+ years working with business stakeholders to design new business processes and workflows

  • 5+ years supporting product management, program management, or business development

  • Microsoft Project experience

  • Strong presentation capabilities

  • Strong working knowledge of data analysis and performance metrics using business management software (e.g., CRM)

*Additional years of relevant experience or a combination of an Associate’s degree or equivalent and relevant experience may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree.

Compensation Range:

$113,000.00 - $197,700.00
