JOB SUMMARY 

This job is responsible for providing executive level leadership, direction, and governance for Highmark's multi-cloud strategy. Oversees enterprise cloud architecture strategy and drives the adoption of cloud services.  The job formulates cloud architecture, establishes governance, manages cloud provider relationships, facilitates adoption, and is a leading member of the Cloud Center of Enablement (CCOE). This job acts as a liaison and consultant to various technology organizations on best practices, principles, and processes required to maintain best in class cloud capabilities and technologies.  This job requires a high level of communications skill in driving and influencing business outcomes and consensus driven decisions.  

 
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Cloud Strategy Governance - Design, build, lead and direct cloud initiatives on multiple fronts, including leading Cloud Center of Enablement efforts.  Drive and lead Cloud Architecture inter-dependency between the Cloud Architecture and Enterprise Architecture strategies.
  • Technology Consultation - Communicate and collaborate to promote strong partnerships between the architects, engineers, developers and business stakeholders.
  • Executive Consultation - Provide input into the executive vision and make it a reality, while driving the cloud adoption and governance process.
  • Maintain an expertise of cloud specific technical aspects in multiple areas and provide recommendations for solutions and designs. The areas of expertise may be any aspect of information, technology, technique, method, process, product, or application area.

  • Drive and govern appropriate design standards, methods and tools and ensures that they are applied effectively.
  • Lead and facilitate development of cloud enabled enterprise business solutions that combine knowledge of business strategies, processes and gaps, technological options, and process facilitation techniques.
  • Vendor Relationship Management - Assist or lead with vendor selection and partnership development in coordation with executive leadership.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring in their areas of expertise and architecture to peers, developers, and management and business users including technical expertise, coaching and ad-hoc training.
  • Other duties as assigned or requested.

EXPERIENCE 

Required 

  • 10 years of technical expertise in supporting IT core technologies (Database, Data Networking, Linux, Windows or similar)

TO INCLUDE:

  • 5 years of technology lead with technical decision-making responsibilities in an enterprise environment
  • 5 years of IT solution delivery and providing consultative solution architecture/support services of enterprise scope and depth
  • 5 years of supporting cloud IT services through Google, Microsoft or Amazon

  
Preferred 

  • 3 years of using pipeline technologies for IT management
  • Experience working with Google Cloud core technologies, including but not limited to GKE, Cloud SQL (PostgreSQL), AllowDB, Pub-Sub, Cloud Run, BigQuery
  • Experience with Google Healthcare Data Engine
  • 5 years working in the Health Care industry (payer or provider)
  • 2+ years experience with modeling languages (e.g., C4, ArchiMate, BPMN, DFD, UML) 
  • 2+ years experience with Enterprise Architecture (EA) modeling tools (e.g., BiZZdesign, Sparx Enterprise Architect, Planview EA)

Pay Range Minimum:

$108,000.00

Pay Range Maximum:

$201,800.00

Base pay is determined by a variety of factors including a candidate’s qualifications, experience, and expected contributions, as well as internal peer equity, market, and business considerations.  The displayed salary range does not reflect any geographic differential Highmark may apply for certain locations based upon comparative markets.
