About Niche

Niche is the leader in school search. Our mission is to make researching and enrolling in schools easy, transparent, and free. With in-depth profiles on every school and college in America, 140 million reviews and ratings, and powerful search tools, we help millions of people find the right school for them. We also help thousands of schools recruit more best-fit students, by highlighting what makes them great and making it easier to visit and apply.

Niche is all about finding where you belong, and that mission inspires how we operate every day. We want Niche to be a place where people truly enjoy working and can thrive professionally.

About The Role

We are looking for a Principal Go-to-Market Strategist to join our Revenue Operations team at Niche. This is not an analytics support role — it's a strategic driver seat. Reporting to our Sr. Director of Revenue Operations, you will own the identification, development, and execution of GTM strategy across our revenue organization. You don't just surface problems and hand off recommendations — you lead the cross-functional work required to resolve them.

You are a business builder who gets energized by complex, ambiguous challenges where the stakes are real and the path isn't obvious. You operate with wide latitude, earn trust at the executive level, and hold yourself accountable for outcomes — not just insights. You are equally at home presenting a strategic recommendation to the CRO and rolling up your sleeves to drive adoption with the teams responsible for making it happen.

This role carries significant organizational influence. You will shape how Niche's revenue org operates, how it plans, and how leadership makes decisions — and you'll be expected to drive change, not just inform it.

What You Will Do

  • Serve as the primary strategic thought partner to the Revenue Leadership Team — and engage with CRO on initiatives with cross-functional or company-wide implications
  • Own the GTM strategic agenda: identify the highest-leverage problems facing the revenue organization, develop clear points of view, and drive cross-functional execution through to resolution
  • Build and deploy AI-enabled analytical workflows — including rapid dashboard prototyping and semantic layer design — that give revenue leadership faster, higher-quality decision inputs without engineering bottlenecks
  • Lead proactive pipeline and funnel strategy — not just identifying risks, but owning the response, aligning stakeholders, and driving corrective action
  • Own quarterly and annual planning frameworks: territory design, quota philosophy, headcount modeling, and revenue targeting — delivering recommendations that leadership adopts and acts on
  • Partner with RevOps and Finance on compensation plan design and strategy, ensuring incentive structures align with GTM goals. Comp execution sits elsewhere; your accountability is the strategic integrity of the plan
  • Drive adoption of strategic initiatives across Revenue teams — including communicating the why, managing stakeholder alignment, and holding teams accountable to agreed-upon changes
  • Own the narrative for weekly, monthly, and quarterly business reviews — not as a reporter of results, but as a strategic interpreter who drives decisions from the room
  • Partner with the GTM Engineering team to define what data and automation infrastructure the business needs to operate at the speed and quality leadership expects.
  • Anticipate organizational inflection points — changes in market conditions, performance trends, or team structure — and proactively develop strategic responses before leadership has to ask

What We Are Looking For

  • 7+ years in GTM strategy, Revenue Operations, Sales Strategy, or related fields in a B2B SaaS or high-growth tech environment
  • Proven track record of not just recommending strategic change but owning its implementation across a revenue organization
  • Exceptional executive communication — you can distill complex analysis into a crisp point of view and defend it in the room
  • Deep fluency in forecasting, pipeline management, territory and quota design, headcount modeling, and compensation strategy
  • Strong analytical foundation (SQL, Excel/Sheets, BI tools) — you use data to build arguments, not just reports
  • High organizational credibility — you influence without authority and drive alignment across teams that don't report to you
  • Bias toward action and accountability; you are uncomfortable leaving a strategic problem identified but unresolved

Compensation

Our national target base salary range is $130,000 -$162,000, plus participation in our Annual Bonus and Stock Options Program. Base compensation will be commensurate with experience and skills.
