The opportunity

At Unity, we’re shaping the future of real-time 3D creation by making game development more accessible than ever. Our next-generation human-in-the-loop agentic AI—goal-directed, adaptive, and capable of reasoning and planning in dynamic environments—is redefining how creators bring their ideas to life.

Unity AI is built to democratize game development in the same way modern tools transformed video creation: if you have an idea, you can make a game—no steep learning curve, no bottlenecks—guided by an agent that plans, executes, and iterates with you. For professionals, we aim to deliver a step-change in efficiency with 10x productivity gains, faster iteration cycles, and richer creative exploration that unlocks entirely new forms of gameplay. As this vision scales, we expect a 10x–100x increase in high-quality games—and with it, a new era of digital entertainment where diverse voices, novel mechanics, and rapid experimentation redefine what’s possible.

We’re looking for a Principal Product Manager to drive the product vision and strategy for AI-powered workflows that improve development efficiency, iteration speed, and production scalability for game developers. In this role, you’ll focus on democratizing game creation by making the Unity editor more intuitive and by delivering agentic AI-powered tools that empower aspiring creators. You’ll work closely with cross-functional partners – from engineers and designers to ML experts and product peers – to craft engaging, accessible, and growth-oriented experiences that expand adoption of Unity within this critical audience.

This is an opportunity for someone passionate about lowering barriers to entry, shaping consumer product experiences, and leveraging GenAI to inspire the next generation of creators.

What you'll be doing

  • Define and own the product vision and strategy for AI-driven workflows that improve efficiency and velocity for game developers.
  • Partner with engineering, design, and ML teams to design and deliver agentic AI-powered workflows that simplify game creation.
  • Build and maintain a product roadmap that balances near-term improvements with bold long-term innovation.
  • Leverage market insights, ecosystem knowledge, and user research methodologies to deeply understand users’ needs and design intuitive solutions.
  • Drive adoption and engagement by shaping consumer-oriented onboarding experiences that lower barriers to game creation.
  • Collaborate across Unity’s ecosystem, aligning with teams in our Create and Grow divisions to deliver a unified product experience.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration, aligning diverse stakeholders and guiding teams through ambiguity toward impactful outcomes.

What we're looking for

  • Background in game development, with hands-on Unity and game creation experience.
  • Deep passion for and extensive daily use of AI products in professional work.
  • Deep empathy for creators, with a customer-obsessed mindset and passion for democratizing game development.
  • Strong track record of product management experience.
  • Experience with GenAI products in gaming or adjacent industries.
  • Proven ability to craft and drive product strategy and vision in complex environments.
  • Strong skills in prioritization, problem-solving, and navigating ambiguity to deliver high-impact outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to align stakeholders and lead cross-functional teams toward shared goals.

You might also have

  • Solid grasp of AI/ML concepts and frameworks, particularly agentic and generative AI, with experience collaborating closely with ML teams.
  • Strong understanding of Unity’s ecosystem and/or adjacent game development environments.
