At Alchemy, our Financial Apps team is laser focused on our mission: building the world’s open economy. We’re solving the hard problems to enable our customers to bring trillions of dollars of financial activity onchain. We believe that financial use cases will drive the majority of crypto growth over the next two years, and Financial Apps is our big bet to accelerate this growth.
As a Principal Frontend Engineer - you'll be instrumental in this vision. You’ll own and drive the robust SDKs power seamless wallet experiences for millions of end-users and developers globally. These are critical in abstracting away the complexities of blockchain, enabling our customers to onboard their users, and enabling (eventually) trillions of dollars of financial activity onchain.
You'll work on one of the most sophisticated frontend systems in the blockchain ecosystem, and be in a unique position where your technical decisions, exceptional bar on quality, and strong customer empathy can help drive a technological transformation.
What You'll Do:- Define the vision for the the SDK (across a wide range of platforms and features) that enables our customers to connect to onchain rails and experiences.
- Design, build, and maintain scalable, performant, and reliable frontend infrastructure, component libraries, and client-side services
- Lead system design discussions, stand-up meetings, and code reviews focused on frontend architecture and performance
- Develop and enforce best practices for frontend infrastructure, emphasizing high performance, accessibility, and iteration speed
- Collaborate with backend engineers, technical leaders, product managers, and designers to deliver cohesive, end-to-end solutions
- Drive adoption of modern frontend tooling, frameworks, and practices to enhance developer experience and user satisfaction
- 10+ years of relevant industry experience in frontend or full-stack development
- BS/BA degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- Incredibly strong customer (developer) empathy.
- Experience designing, building, scaling, and maintaining core frontend software components (experience with developer platforms or component libraries a plus)
- Ability to solve complex design, performance, accessibility, or scalability challenges in high-throughput, low-latency frontend systems in production
- Proficiency in React Native (and preferable proficiency in cross-platform client development)
- Proficiency in building scalable frontend infrastructure, including module federation, micro-frontends, or design systems
- Experience with frontend build tools and ecosystems (e.g., Webpack, Vite, Esbuild, or Turbopack)
- Expertise in optimizing web performance (e.g., Core Web Vitals, lazy loading, code splitting) and cross-browser compatibility
- Experience in Cloud Native environments, particularly in AWS, for deploying and managing frontend assets
- Self-starter attitude with the ability to execute new ideas autonomously
- Know how to find the right balance between perfection and shipping quickly
- Curiosity on the leading edge - plays with crypto, the latest in AI, and pushes to unpack black boxes
Alchemy is committed to offering competitive compensation, including base salary as well as equity. Additionally, Alchemy offers comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as other benefits such as 401k and unlimited flexible time off.
The base salary range for this position is estimated to be between $210,000 - $260,000 annually, performance based bonus, and equity. Please note this range reflects base salary only, and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Your salary will be determined by various factors, including relevant experience, skill set, qualifications, and other business needs.
