About the Role

We’re looking for a bold, strategic, and collaborative Principal Product Manager to lead the charge on growing and deepening our news audience across web and mobile. In this role, you’ll reimagine how millions of readers discover, register, and return to the News & Insights platform—transforming first-time visitors into loyal and high-value readers.

You’ll own the full activation funnel, crafting seamless, engaging journeys that bring users back again and again. Working hand-in-hand with editorial, design, engineering, and marketing teams, you will find creative solutions to ensure our journalism integrates seamlessly and compliments our core experiences. You will also help ensure that our journalism reaches more people and delivers measurable value at every step of the user journey.

This role sits at the heart of our audience growth and retention strategy, but it’s also about unlocking new business potential. You’ll build systems that not only boost engagement, but also drive revenue through content syndication and intelligent monetization strategies, expanding our reach beyond our own platform.

This is a high-impact opportunity for a product leader who’s passionate about media, obsessed with user experience, and ready to help shape the future of how real estate news is delivered and consumed. This role reports to the VP, Editorial and Content.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead the vision, strategy, and execution for engagement experiences across platforms
  • Define and maintain a platform roadmap that aligns with company-wide goals and priorities
  • Develop and maintain product roadmap, and manage engineering priorities
  • Develop onboarding flows and personalized entry points that introduce new users to our editorial voice and value proposition
  • Define and iterate on core engagement mechanisms like push notifications, email preferences, user accounts, and personalized feeds
  • Collaborate closely with newsroom leaders to ensure product experiences align with editorial goals and reader needs
  • Partner cross-functionally with marketing, data, engineering, and design to drive KPIs like registered users, engaged time, and subscriber conversion Use a mix of user research, experimentation, and analytics to prioritize features and measure success
  • Serve as a key product voice in internal conversations about growth, audience strategy, and loyalty
  • Identify and prioritize future-facing opportunities, with a focus on AI and automation to deliver high-quality journalism at scale

How We Work:

We balance creativity and innovation on a foundation of in-person collaboration. For most roles, our employees work three or more days in our offices, where they have the opportunity to collaborate in-person, adding richness to our culture and knitting us closer together.

What You Bring:

  • 12+ years in product management, with at least 5 years focused on consumer-facing experiences—preferably in media, journalism, or content platforms
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field and/or equivalent experience.
  • Strong business acumen, with a record of driving business growth through product and technology
  • Proven success leading cross-functional teams in delivering mobile and web products at scale
  • Experience driving engagement and retention through data-informed product development
  • Experience in working with AI, writing content at scale and video
  • A collaborative spirit and comfort working with editorial stakeholders, newsroom workflows, and mission-driven goals
  • Strong product instincts, an iterative mindset, and a passion for delivering meaningful experiences to diverse audiences
  • A bias for clarity, simplicity, and measurable impact
  • You move with urgency, while maintaining standards and staying aligned with the company’s long-term vision.
