The Role:
The opportunity to work with senior leadership as part of a team building and growing a best-in-class private equity effort (Blue Owl Strategic Equity or “BOSE”) within the broader Blue Owl platform. The role focuses primarily on minority equity investments through either single-asset continuation vehicles or direct minority equity investment into leading businesses. Fund I recently closed at ~$3bn of AUM.
Responsibilities:
Evaluation of potential new investments, including business diligence, financial modelling, valuation work, legal negotiation, and execution
Preparation of investment memos and presentation to investment committee
Portfolio monitoring and ensuring value creation
Periodic fund marketing and participation in strategic initiatives
Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in investment banking or private equity
Experience with financial modeling, financial statement analysis, due diligence, valuation, and other investment processes
Ability to deliver in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and multiple demands
Ability to clearly articulate ideas, both written and oral, to internal and external audiences across levels of seniority
Ability to build relationships with business leaders, corporate functions, and external constituents
Entrepreneurial work ethic to build and scale a large fund business and culture
It is expected that the base annual salary range for this New York City-based non-exempt position will 150,000. Actual salaries may vary based on factors, such as skill, experience, and qualification for the role. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, based on factors such as individual and team performance.
