The Role:

The opportunity to work with senior leadership as part of a team building and growing a best-in-class private equity effort (Blue Owl Strategic Equity or “BOSE”) within the broader Blue Owl platform. The role focuses primarily on minority equity investments through either single-asset continuation vehicles or direct minority equity investment into leading businesses. Fund I recently closed at ~$3bn of AUM.    

Responsibilities: 

  • Evaluation of potential new investments, including business diligence, financial modelling, valuation work, legal negotiation, and execution

  • Preparation of investment memos and presentation to investment committee 

  • Portfolio monitoring and ensuring value creation

  • Periodic fund marketing and participation in strategic initiatives

Qualifications: 

  • 2+ years of experience in investment banking or private equity

  • Experience with financial modeling, financial statement analysis, due diligence, valuation, and other investment processes 

  • Ability to deliver in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and multiple demands 

  • Ability to clearly articulate ideas, both written and oral, to internal and external audiences across levels of seniority 

  • Ability to build relationships with business leaders, corporate functions, and external constituents 

  • Entrepreneurial work ethic to build and scale a large fund business and culture

It is expected that the base annual salary range for this New York City-based non-exempt position will 150,000. Actual salaries may vary based on factors, such as skill, experience, and qualification for the role. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, based on factors such as individual and team performance.
