About the role:

We’re looking for a creative, news and politics-obsessed, full stack Producer to serve as showrunner for mid-to-long form daily news content from COURIER.

You’ll work closely with talent – selecting stories, building the daily run-of-shows, writing set-ups, managing recording sessions, quickly editing and publishing to YouTube and podcast platforms, drafting copy and creating thumbnails, and selecting soundbites and editing clips for social media.

Key responsibilities:

Showrun: COURIER’s daily news and politics content

  • Own the day-to-day production.
  • Collaborate on editorial – helping to choose top stories, researching and writing the run-of-shows, and helping to shape the tone and POV
  • Work directly with talent to structure and adapt each episode for podcast and YouTube
  • Collaborate with editors and social team to cut for clips, shorts, and other platform-native assets
  • Book and coordinate guest appearances (e.g., reporters, insiders, creators) and prep them for appearances
  • Manage recordings – ensuring quality audio and video for all talent and guests

Experience: 

  • Have 5+ years of experience producing daily news or politically-focused media for broadcast tv, podcast, or long-form digital media.. 
  • Have worked in or around politics, journalism, or campaigns.
  • Are an exceptional writer, editor and story-shaper.
  • Know what makes a story stick on YouTube, TikTok, and podcast platforms
  • Can quickly turn around a basic edit. Experience using Descript and Premiere Pro is highly preferred.
  • Can create a compelling thumbnail. Photoshop and Canva experience is highly preferred.
  • Can write clickable headlines and draft clear and accurate copy.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative production environment and are great at keeping things moving
