The  Product and Analytics specialist will work with the Managing Director, Head of Product and Analytics, as well as the rest of the AlphaX US team and will play a key strategic role in shaping the future direction of the AlphaX US trading venue and its analytical capabilities.  

This role will also be key in working with the Sales team to provide analytics and feedback to Participants and provide recommendations on ways to trade in our venue to achieve better execution quality and will provide guidance and mentorship within the team on analytical best practices.

Key Accountabilities:

• Independently design, develop, and implement complex analytical frameworks and models to extract meaningful insights from large datasets

• Use available data to construct explainable metrics for the venue

• Proactively identify and evaluate emerging market trends and competitive landscapes to inform the strategic evolution of our trading venue and analytics offerings

• Determine the best strategies for implementation of our venue into new partners’ platforms and help market those ideas

• Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and proactively identify opportunities for significant improvement in venue features and performance

• Develop and present insightful, data-driven narratives and recommendations to trading participants and internal stakeholders, acting as a thought leader on utilizing the venue for optimal execution

• Lead cross-functional collaborations with product, sales, and technology teams across AlphaX US and TMX to align analytical insights with strategic objectives and drive impactful outcomes

• Perform leadership functions within the group, mentoring and aiding junior members of the AlphaX US team

• Serve as a subject matter expert on US equity trading and market structure, providing in-depth analysis and guidance on regulatory changes and their implications for AlphaX US and TMX

• Serve as an active member of the AlphaX US Operational Committee to strategize with the President and other team leaders around the direction and goals of the business

• Work with the rest of the Alpha X US team to engage clients around market structure, trading, and specifically our venue

Must haves:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in relevant Analytics roles, with a demonstrable track record of strategic impact

• Experience in developing and applying sophisticated trading analytics to drive business outcomes

• Demonstrated ability to translate complex data into actionable strategic recommendations for senior leadership

• Proficiency with SQL is required; along with data analysis and financial modeling

• Excellent communication skills

• Proven creative and strategic thinker with an eye to execution

• Strong business acumen with superior qualitative and quantitative analytical skills

Nice to haves:

• Python or similar

• Experience with Tableau (or similar)

Note: Hybrid role 3 days in the New York Office

Salary Range: $150,000/year - $250,000/year USD
