About Qualitate

Qualitate is building the AI-native primary intelligence platform for enterprises, investment firms, and asset managers. We automate the entire primary research workflow, from study design and expert recruitment through AI-moderated interviews and insight synthesis - replacing weeks of manual research with hours of high-signal output.

Expert research is a broken industry dominated by legacy incumbents with expensive, manual, and slow services. Investment and corporate strategy teams spend hundreds of hours coordinating intermediaries, scheduling expert calls, and synthesizing insights across fragmented providers. The process takes weeks to produce short-lived intelligence.

Qualitate transforms this workflow by autonomously conducting expert discussions at scale using AI. Qualitate’s AI Moderator interviews thousands of experts simultaneously each month, capturing forward-looking purchasing plans, competitive displacement, and real-time ROI signals. The platform turns these interviews into quantified, time-series outputs tracking over 10,000 public and private companies, queryable instantly in natural language. Our customers include some of the world’s largest enterprises, hedge funds, PE firms, credit investors, and venture capital firms.

The Role

We’re looking for a Product Designer to shape how organizations conduct research, explore evidence, and make decisions with AI. You’ll bring strong interaction design, visual craft, and product judgment to workflows that must feel clear and trustworthy, even when the underlying information is complex.

You’ll work closely with product, engineering, and design teammates from early exploration through launch and iteration. Along the way, you’ll help evolve the patterns, prototypes, and research practices that enables Qualitate’s vision of building the future of always-on continuous intelligence.

What the day-to-day looks like:

  • Turn research questions into usable workflows. Design how people move through complex tasks, keeping the next step clear as they gather information, explore findings, and reach decisions.

  • Make AI workflows understandable. Help users move from research questions to evidence and decisions, with clear ways to guide automation, inspect results, and stay in control.

  • Prototype to learn quickly. Rapidly build realistic prototypes to explore interaction ideas, test assumptions with users, and work through technical constraints with engineering.

  • Make complexity manageable for organizations. Design collaboration permissions, and administration so teams can work together while understanding who can see and do what.

  • Help decide what we build. Partner with product and engineering to identify opportunities, challenge assumptions, and make thoughtful tradeoffs between user needs, business goals, and implementation effort.

  • Strengthen the design system. Evolve reusable components and interaction patterns that make the product more cohesive and help the team ship faster.

  • Let customer evidence shape the roadmap. Work with product and engineering to turn research, feedback, and usage patterns into priorities, and revisit decisions when new evidence changes the picture.

Who This Role Is For

  • Experience shipping commercial products. You have 5+ years of product design experience, with a portfolio that shows your contribution to shipped work, the decisions behind it, and what you learned.

  • Strong interaction and visual craft. You can make complex workflows feel approachable and carry a design through its detailed interactions, product states, and visual execution.

  • Experience with complex software. You’ve designed for B2B or enterprise products and understand how different roles, information needs, and organizational constraints shape an experience.

  • Independent product judgement. You can frame an ambiguous problem, explore different approaches, and help decide what is worth building. You know when to move quickly and where more care or validation is needed.

  • Practical prototyping skills. You are proficient in Figma and familiar with AI-assisted tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, or v0. You can use prototypes to answer questions about how an experience should work.

  • A habit of learning from users. You can use research, customer feedback, and product data to inform decisions and improve your work after it ships.

  • Clear communication and collaboration. You explain ideas and tradeoffs through words, flows, and prototypes, welcome feedback, and work closely with teammates to reach good decisions.

  • The ideal candidate brings high standards for craft, strong product judgment, and an entrepreneurial, collaborative mindset to one of the fastest growing startups in New York.

What Sets You Apart

  • You’ve designed AI-powered experiences that give users meaningful control and make results understandable and trustworthy, including interactions beyond simple chat interfaces.

  • You’ve helped a growing team evolve its design system or design practices, making it easier to deliver consistent, high-quality work.

  • You use research, customer feedback, and product analytics to challenge assumptions and iterate after launch.

  • You can move comfortably between design and code. Frontend development experience is a plus; some of our designers contribute production code.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary: $150-180

  • Equity: Meaningful early-stage grant with upside tied to company growth.

  • Benefits: Health coverage, flexible PTO, paid holidays.

  • Location: Full-time, in-person in New York City.

What to expect working at Qualitate

  • Excellence. You’ll be held accountable to an exceptionally high bar and impact

  • High velocity. Fast paced work environment in terms of growth, decision making, and time to impact

  • High agency. Ownership over how you work, not just what you work on. We hire people we trust to figure it out.

  • A builder’s mindset. You'll create the processes, playbooks, and systems that define how this company scales.

  • Shared ambition. A small, early team disrupting the multi-billion dollar market research industry with AI.

  • Joy. We work hard and genuinely enjoy working with each other. Dedication to our work is matched only by our passion for fostering an enjoyable, collaborative work environment.

Qualitate is an equal opportunity employer. We encourage candidates of all backgrounds to apply.
