About R/GA

In our 40-year history, we’ve changed a lot—from a culture-defining film title studio (Superman, Alien, Ghostbusters); to an interactive advertising agency; to an award-winning product and marketing agency with design, technology, communications, ventures and IP practices. We like change, and like to navigate our clients through it too.

Our approach to work is always human first. This unwavering focus helps us create meaningful and memorable experiences that live across digital platforms and often blur the line between the digital and real worlds. We believe disruptive thinking happens when you collide experts in design, technology and culture.

About the Role

As the Product Director of AI Products, you will run the productization process across our portfolio, working side-by-side with our Tech Director and AI Engineers on our first product bets and those that follow. You will join AI Products (AIP), the engineering-led, small-by-design team building R/GA's next chapter by shifting our business from service-as-labor to service-as-software. This is a true product role inside a productization studio where you will own product strategy, scoping, validation, and the discipline of shipping reusable assets that travel across clients. You will ensure every bet ships as a real product with a clear thesis, an identified buyer, a sales-ready demo, and the rhythm to ship, sell, or sunset on time.

Here’s what you should know if you want to be a Product Director, AI Products at R/GA:

On any given day you might

  • own the rhythm by which bets move from concept to shippable product, defining the demo, the deck, and the codebase scope for each.
  • define product strategy theses, target buyers, IP wedges, and ship-or-sunset criteria.
  • synthesize the narrative and lead the creation of product marketing assets, ranging from video content to PR and beyond.
  • run customer discovery with R/GA Client Leads, prospects, and pitch teams to validate assumptions early and kill bets that do not hold up.
  • prototype, validate, and iterate using AI agents to build working artifacts yourself rather than waiting on engineering for every check.
  • partner with brand, marketing, PR, new business, and regional studios via short, scoped consulting moments rather than non-billable resourcing commitments.
  • build the marketing decks, demo scripts, and pitch artifacts that empower any Client Lead to sell our products without hand-holding.
  • define and report on success metrics, building the dashboard that the team and the Global Leadership Team live by to track pitch-to-win lift, margin uplift, engagement extension, software revenue, and industry signal.
  • maintain a pipeline of productization candidates harvested from across R/GA to steward the backlog.

The ideal person

  • is a high-agency operator who fills in gaps without requiring a formalized process and brings rigor without bureaucracy.
  • is rigorous about product management, including problem definition, sequencing, and metrics, while remaining deeply fluent in AI capabilities, limitations, and future bets.
  • is a technically minded, T-shaped individual with a track record of building long-term AI products that have shipped, sold, and lasted, rather than just demos.

You bring

  • 7+ years of product management experience, with 3+ years focused on AI-powered or technically complex products.
  • strong technical fluency, including the ability to read code, push back on architecture, and write a credible PRD for an AI system.
  • fluency in agent-driven workflows with the ability to direct AI agents to build prototypes and working artifacts independently.
  • demonstrated zero-to-one experience, ideally inside an agency, studio, consultancy, or startup.
  • excellent written communication skills across PRDs, decks, sales artifacts, and executive updates that make complex products easy to understand and easy to sell.
  • the comfort and confidence to present to senior clients and internal stakeholders, including the C-suite.

Bonus Points

  • if you have prior product work on generative interfaces, agent platforms, brand systems, or AI tooling.
  • if you have experience packaging consulting or services work into repeatable products.
  • if you have a background working alongside designers and creative teams in agency environments.
  • if you have published thinking on AI product management, evaluation, or productization.

*This role is based in NYC. Candidates must be located in the tri-state area (NY, NJ, or CT) or willing to relocate. This position offers a hybrid work model, with regular in-person collaboration, team / client workshops.
