Are you passionate about solving complex challenges in the fintech space? We’re looking for talented individuals to join our dynamic startup, backed by Sequoia Capital. We’re building the universal payment layer to unify all currencies—fiat and crypto—so businesses and consumers can transact seamlessly. If you're passionate about creating innovative solutions in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, we want to talk to you.

Lead Product Manager, Card Issuing

We’re looking for a Lead Product Manager, Card Issuing to build and scale Breeze’s card issuing platform from the ground up.

This is a true 0 to 1 product opportunity. You will own the strategy, development, launch, and ongoing iteration of our card program, from standing up the underlying issuing infrastructure to building the customer experiences that sit on top of it.

This role goes far beyond launching a physical or virtual card. You will help define how the entire card program operates, including its economics, transaction flows, ledgering, reconciliation, risk controls, operational processes, and customer experience.

You will work at the intersection of payments, banking infrastructure, risk, compliance, finance, operations, and product. We are looking for someone who has built card products before, understands what happens throughout the full transaction lifecycle, and is excited to build again in a fast-moving environment.

What You’ll Do
  • Own the end-to-end product strategy and roadmap for Breeze’s card issuing platform.
  • Lead the 0 to 1 development and launch of physical and virtual card products.
  • Stand up the infrastructure, partnerships, workflows, and operating model required to launch and scale a card program.
  • Define and optimize the economics of the card program, including interchange revenue, network fees, processing costs, fraud losses, rewards, operational costs, and customer value.
  • Own the full card transaction lifecycle, including authorization, clearing, settlement, refunds, reversals, disputes, chargebacks, and reconciliation.
  • Partner closely with Engineering to build reliable ledgering, reconciliation, transaction processing, and reporting systems.
  • Lead integrations with issuing banks, BIN sponsors, processors, payment networks, card manufacturers, and other strategic partners.
  • Build and iterate on core card capabilities, including:
    • Physical and virtual card issuance
    • Card activation and lifecycle management
    • Card controls and spending limits
    • Real-time transaction notifications
    • Tokenization and digital wallet provisioning
    • Apple Pay and Google Pay integrations
    • Fraud monitoring and transaction controls
    • Disputes and chargeback experiences
  • Partner with Risk, Compliance, and Operations to build KYC, fraud, dispute, and servicing workflows that can scale.
  • Use customer feedback, transaction data, authorization rates, fraud metrics, and program economics to continuously improve the product.
  • Identify edge cases, operational risks, and failure points before they become customer or business problems.
  • Make thoughtful tradeoffs across customer experience, technical complexity, speed, compliance, and economics.
  • Act as the primary product owner for all card issuing initiatives across the company.
What We’re Looking For
  • 6 or more years of Product Management experience, ideally within fintech, payments, banking, embedded finance, or crypto.
  • Proven experience launching a card issuing product from 0 to 1 or leading a major expansion of an existing card program.
  • Strong understanding of how to stand up and operate a card program from both a product and infrastructure perspective.
  • Experience working across the full card transaction lifecycle, including authorization, clearing, settlement, refunds, disputes, and reconciliation.
  • Strong understanding of card economics, including interchange, network fees, processing costs, fraud loss, rewards, and operational expenses.
  • Experience building or partnering closely on ledgering and reconciliation systems.
  • Experience working directly with issuing banks, processors, BIN sponsors, payment networks, or embedded finance providers.
  • Strong technical product instincts and the ability to work closely with engineering teams on complex financial systems.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity and making decisions with incomplete information.
  • Ability to move quickly while maintaining a high bar for reliability, compliance, and customer experience.
  • Experience working in a high-growth, early-stage, or startup-like environment.
Ideal Experience

Strong candidates may have worked on several of the following areas:

  • Card transaction lifecycles
  • Card authorization and processing
  • Ledger and reconciliation systems
  • KYC or KYB onboarding
  • Fraud prevention and transaction monitoring
  • Disputes and chargebacks
  • Physical card manufacturing and fulfillment
  • Virtual card issuance
  • Digital wallet provisioning
  • Apple Pay and Google Pay
  • Card controls and spending limits
  • Rewards and card economics
  • Embedded finance or Banking as a Service
  • Consumer wallets or financial applications

Experience with crypto, stablecoins, blockchain-based payments, or digital wallets is a strong plus.

You’ll Thrive Here If You
  • Enjoy building products from a blank slate.
  • Understand both the customer-facing and infrastructure sides of card issuing.
  • Think about product decisions through the lens of customer experience, technical architecture, risk, and economics.
  • Are highly hands-on and comfortable moving between strategy and execution.
  • Work well in fast-paced environments where priorities can change quickly.
  • Take ownership of complex problems and drive them through launch.
  • Want to build modern financial products rather than maintain legacy systems.
Why Join Us
  • Competitive salary and equity plan
  • 21 days PTO
  • Flexible benefits, including an annual medical allowance, productivity allowance, gym membership, and personal well-being subsidy
  • Annual team retreat trip
  • Work alongside a team backed by Sequoia Capital with a healthy runway
