The Product Lead will manage the platform layer of Photon, focusing on API and integration tools, enhancing user onboarding, and ensuring scalable systems.
Location: NYC Metro Area (Williamsburg Office, 3+ days/week)
Photon gives patients ownership of prescriptions. Our platform enables clinicians to send prescriptions to patients via text, which saves them time by allowing their patients to shop between pharmacies. The vision is to help consumers save money by increasing transparency.
We’re looking for a Product Lead to own the platform layer that powers how customers integrate with Photon.
This includes onboarding tooling, APIs, and the systems that enable health systems, digital health companies, and enterprise partners to seamlessly plug into Photon’s prescribing and marketplace infrastructure.
You’ll define how customers get up and running, how they scale, and how we make prescribing workflows feel simple and reliable through great tooling and abstractions. This is a highly cross-functional role at the intersection of product, engineering, and commercial teams, with direct impact on Photon’s growth and expansion.
If you enjoy turning messy, high-stakes integrations into clean, scalable systems—and care deeply about provider experience—this role is for you.
- Own the vision and roadmap for Photon Connect, including embedded elements, APIs, onboarding flows, portals, and integration tooling
- Design and ship scalable systems that enable customers to integrate quickly and reliably. improving time-to-live for new customers, reducing friction across onboarding, configuration, and go-live
- Define and evolve Photon’s API surface area, ensuring consistency, usability, and long-term scalability
- Establish best practices around versioning, documentation, and platform reliability
- Work with commercial and operations teams to understand customer needs and translate them into product requirements
- 5+ years of Product Management experience, with ownership over technical or platform products
- Experience building or owning APIs, platforms, or integration-heavy products
- Strong technical fluency—you’re comfortable working closely with engineers and understanding system design tradeoffs
- Track record of shipping products that balance flexibility with simplicity
- Experience improving onboarding funnels, especially in B2B or enterprise contexts
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and define structure in complex systems
- Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Background in B2B SaaS, fintech, or infrastructure/platform products
- Experience with healthcare systems, EHR integrations, or regulated environments
- Comfort working with data tools or querying systems directly (e.g., SQL)
- Experience leveraging AI in workflows
Photon is reimagining how prescriptions move through the healthcare system—making it simpler, faster, and more transparent for patients, providers, and pharmacies alike. You’ll:
- Take on a role with meaningful ownership, shaping how an early-stage company supports, grows, and learns from its customers.
- Work on a problem almost everyone you know has experienced, and help fix a system that’s broken in ways most people just accept
- Be pushed—these are hard problems, and we expect a lot—but the growth and impact that come with it are real
- Join a team that gives a shit—about the work, about each other, and about doing things the right way. High trust, high standards, and we actually like spending time together
