  • Convert stakeholders’ requirements into epics, features, and user stories with clear acceptance criteria; maintain a transparent, prioritized backlog.
  • Define measurable product metrics (adoption, data quality scores, SLA compliance, performance) and track value realization.

Agile Delivery (Scrum)

  • Run Scrum ceremonies: Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-up, Backlog Refinement, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
  • Partner with Scrum Master and Technical Leads to remove impediments, manage scope, and keep delivery predictable.
  • Champion Definition of Ready and Definition of Done, ensuring data products meet quality, governance, and performance standards.

Data Analysis & SQL

  • Write and review SQL to validate datasets across environments;
  • Collaborate with analysts and data scientists to define KPIs, analytical features, and insight-driven use cases.

Data Governance & Collibra

  • Partner with Governance to establish stewardship workflows, standards, naming conventions, certification processes, and data issue resolution.
  • Use Data Catalog (Collibra or similar) to manage metadata, lineage, and data quality rules/scorecards; drive onboarding of governed datasets and monitor quality thresholds

Data Engineering Partnership

  • Work side-by-side with data engineers on ingestion, transformation, and orchestration patterns; ensure scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
  • Provide clear requirements for schema design, partitioning, indexing, and performance optimization; validate outcomes via SQL and acceptance tests

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

  • Lead discovery workshops; synthesize diverse viewpoints into consensus on priorities and release plans.
  • Create crisp artifacts: data dictionaries, business rules, lineage diagrams, workflow maps, and release notes; present progress and insights to business and leadership

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years as a Product Management delivering data-centric products (analytics, governance, engineering)
  • SQL proficiency
  • Proven ability to run Scrum end-to-end and translate complex requirements into actionable user stories with clear acceptance criteria
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to present to clients and collaborate across engineering, governance, and business teams

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with Collibra or another Data Catalog tool (metadata, lineage, stewardship, DQ rules and scorecards
  • Exposure to modern data stacks (e.g., AWS/Azure, data lake/warehouse, orchestration tools), and working with data engineers, architects, and analysts
  • Background supporting federal, healthcare, or enterprise-scale data programs

The likely salary range for this position is $85,093 - $88,550. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
