The role:

As an AI Product Manager at Stepful, you'll be responsible for crafting intelligent, scalable product experiences that enhance human connection in education. You'll lead our AI initiatives to augment our coaches, instructors, and support staff, enabling them to deliver personalized attention to students at scale. Your work will be crucial in building products that maintain the quality of human interaction while serving an exponentially growing student base.

What you’ll do:

  • Define and execute the strategy for AI-powered solutions that enhance student success and amplify team effectiveness 

  • Build deep empathy and understanding of students, educators, and support staff pain points

  • Partner with operations and support teams to identify opportunities where identify opportunities where AI is most effective at streamlining operations while maintaining quality

  • Work closely with design, engineering, data science, and operations teams to rapidly prototype, test, and iterate on AI solutions

  • Build frameworks for measuring AI system effectiveness and making data-driven decisions about product development and implementation

This job is for you if you have:

  • You have 3+ years of consumer facing product management experience, with at least 1 year working on AI/ML products 

  • You are highly analytical (proficient in SQL & data visualizations) with strong communication skills to relay those insights

  • Experience with large language models, natural language processing, or conversational AI and understanding of prompt engineering and LLM fine-tuning

  • Proven track record of shipping AI products that solve real user problems balanced with an understanding of AI capabilities, limitations, and best practices for responsible AI development

  • Ability to build relationships and influence decisions at various levels across all different team members

  • Bias to action with the ability to consider trade-offs and make decisions amongst competing priorities

Bonus points if:

  • You have previous startup experience especially at B2B2C or B2C EdTech/Healthcare particularly with products involving human-AI collaboration

  • Experience with A/B testing or other experiment/data driven product development organizations

  • Understanding of technical aspects of software development (ex. should be able to search through GitHub)

Step 4: Onsite interview at office in SoHo, NYC

Compensation:

$120-180k / 0.02-0.06%

Compensation for this role will fall within the pay range listed and will be determined based on job-related factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications as well as interview evaluation. Ranges are market-dependent and may be modified in the future.
