About Numeric

Numeric is building the modern accounting & finance platform.

We believe an organization with up-to-date, accurate, rich financial data is empowered to move faster and smarter. Unfortunately, the tools and systems have not been keeping up. The complexity of work and granularity of data has ballooned. Old, slow software and simplistic tools only facilitate the manual work; they do little to solve the fundamental challenges of accounting and finance.

As a product-focused company, we know that a great product and engineering team can build the tools to give our users superpowers. We work to free people from the manual and the tedious, and to bring delight to their work.

Numeric is backed by Founders Fund, Menlo Ventures, IVP, 8VC, Long Journey Ventures, and others as well as founders from Ramp, Segment, and more. We recently closed a $28M Series A and are growing quickly.

About the Role

We are looking for our first Product Manager to own and drive key initiatives that will define the future of Numeric. As our first PM, you will work closely with our customers, engineers, and founders to build an intuitive, powerful, and scalable product functionality that fundamentally improves how accounting and finance teams work.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in 0→1 environments, loves solving deep workflow and data problems, and has strong instincts for user experience and technical feasibility. You’ll set the foundation for our product management function, owning key features from ideation through execution and iteration.

What You’ll Do
  • Own the full product lifecycle for new functionality: Drive timelines, collaboratively create and maintain product requirement documents, work closely with engineering and design, coordinate dependencies, and proactively mitigate risks and interruptions.

  • Facilitate product discovery: Identify pain points, evaluate existing solutions and alternatives, understand our audience and their incentives, and assess the feasibility of new product areas.

  • Continuously evaluate scope and direction: Adapt plans based on new information in collaboration with engineering, and manage follow-up releases depending on how scope was adjusted.

  • Manage feature rollout and comms: Help maximize new launches by overseeing the communication both externally and internally, as well as by strategizing around beta cohorts and rollout.

  • Assess product efficacy: Define success metrics, facilitate feedback, and leverage insights to make informed product and platform decisions.

  • Establish best-in-class product practices: Contribute to the foundation of our product management function and help shape the culture of our product team.

About You
  • 5+ years of experience in product management, preferably in a high-growth SaaS company or working with finance/accounting tools.

  • Strong technical acumen: You can engage in architecture and data discussions and understand the trade-offs of different approaches.

  • Deep systems thinking: You can break down complex workflows into intuitive, scalable, and delightful experiences.

  • Bias for action: You have a track record of shipping impactful products quickly in ambiguous and rapidly evolving environments.

  • User-obsessed: You enjoy talking to customers and have a deep appreciation for user research, data-driven decision-making, and great design.

  • Excellent communicator & collaborator: You thrive in cross-functional teams and can align stakeholders around a vision.

  • Experience with accounting, finance, or workflow-heavy products is a big plus but certainly not required.
