The Product Manager will develop product strategies, define features, collaborate on user experience, manage projects, and communicate updates to stakeholders.
Slate is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Product Manager. In this role, you will support the development and execution of product strategies to drive engagement, growth, and revenue on Slate.com. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Engineering, UX, Subscription, and Editorial to deliver innovative products that meet the needs of our audience and align with business objectives. This role requires curiosity about digital media trends, strong analytical skills, and a passion for creating exceptional user experiences.
Responsibilities
- Product Strategy Development: Support the Product team in defining product vision, roadmap, and priorities based on market analysis, user feedback, and business goals
- Feature Definition and Prioritization: Help define product features and functionality, prioritize initiatives based on impact and feasibility, and create detailed requirements documentation
- User Experience Optimization: Continuously analyze user behavior and feedback to identify opportunities for improving user experience, engagement, and retention
- Project Management: Collaborate with cross-functional teams through the product development lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products within budget and scope
- Data-Driven Decision making: Utilize analytics and KPIs to track product performance, measure success, and make informed decisions to drive continuous improvement
- Stakeholder Communication: Communicate product updates, roadmap changes, and key insights to stakeholders at all levels of the organization
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent work experience
- 1–3 years of experience in product management, preferably in the digital media industry, or related role (associate product manager, project manager, or similar)
- Experience working on digital products or platforms
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
- Eagerness to learn with a creative mindset and passion for innovation
- Exposure to agile development methodologies and project management tools
- Interest in digital media technologies, content management systems, content distribution platforms, and advertising ecosystem
- Familiarity with product management tools and software (e.g., Asana, Github Issues) is a plus
