About Axial

Axial is the trusted online M&A platform connecting buyers and sellers of $5M-$100M American privately held companies. Trusted by over 4,500 professional acquirers and 3,000 M&A advisors, we have built a pioneering digital transaction platform that radically improves the speed, confidentiality, and success by which private companies achieve successful exits.
Axial is a founder-led, profitable company based in New York City with a hybrid office culture. We’ve been profitable since 2020 and are the category leader in our market. We are long-term oriented, values-driven, and focused on building a lasting company committed to member trust, operational excellence, and profitable long-term growth.
In 2025, over 12,500 private companies pursued an exit via the platform, leading to over 3,000,000 platform connections, and over $1B in annual transaction volume (Closed Transactions).

The Role

As a Product Manager at Axial, you’ll work closely with a Senior Product Manager and cross-functional partners to help build, improve, and scale meaningful product experiences.

This role is designed for someone early in their career who is curious, motivated, and eager to learn how great products are built. You’ll be given real responsibility, trusted to work independently, and supported through close mentorship in an environment built on trust, autonomy, and collaboration.

If you enjoy digging into ambiguous problems, learning new tools quickly, and thinking deeply about users and data, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities

Learn the Product, Users, and Market

  • Develop a strong understanding of Axial’s platform, users, and business model.
  • Study user behavior through data analysis, user feedback, and competitive research.
  • Ramp quickly on new problem spaces through focused, independent learning.

Product Discovery & Delivery

  • Help research, shape, and evaluate new product ideas.
  • Write clear product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Partner closely with Engineering and Design to deliver high-quality features.

Be Data-Informed

  • Use SQL, analytics tools, dashboards, and AI-assisted workflows to answer product questions.
  • Proactively identify risks, gaps, or unclear assumptions in data, requirements, or proposed solutions.
  • Communicate findings clearly and thoughtfully.
Who We're Looking For

Required

  • 0–3 years of experience in product, analytics, consulting, engineering, operations, or a similarly analytical role.
  • Strong curiosity and problem-solving instincts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and pride in quality work.
  • Comfort working independently in ambiguous environments.
  • Demonstrated work ethic and follow-through.
  • Thoughtful use of modern tools (including AI and data tools), paired with strong judgment, attention to detail, and validation of work.

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to B2B SaaS, marketplaces, fintech, or finance.
  • Experience with SQL, data analysis, or experimentation.
  • Interest in M&A, private markets, or complex workflows.
