🌎 The Opportunity
In the next 30 years, the world will transform every part of the built environment to be climate positive green infrastructure. But today’s renewable energy development process can’t move fast enough to meet global goals. Paces exists to change that. We are providing software and services to accelerate power development - unlocking one of the greatest opportunities of our time: transforming how infrastructure gets built and ensuring it’s built with renewable energy.

🛠️ Our Solution
Paces is building the development engine for power projects and renewable infrastructure. We have built Agentic AI that automates early-stage due diligence and pairs it with in-house expertise to accelerate late-stage diligence. The result is projects that move from siting to construction-ready in a fraction of the time. Our platform supports renewable energy and data center developers, real estate firms, EV charging companies, and more by streamlining siting, interconnection, and permitting.

🧑‍🎨 Our Team
We are building a team where people can proudly say their time at Paces is the most impactful, meaningful work of their career. Our amazing team in Brooklyn, New York includes incredible team members from tech companies like Meta AI, DeepMind, and Tesla; various high growth startups; as well as industry leaders from TotalEnergies, Con Edison and GE.
Paces is growing rapidly and looking for motivated, collaborative, and insightful individuals to work with our team to develop new products and evolve existing products. Our development timelines are aggressive and you will be asked to rigorously explore solutions for previously unsolved problems. Ideal candidates for our team have passion for making things work, are highly detail-oriented self-starters, and are hungry to do work that matters.

🏆 What You'll Achieve
  • Own the product vision and roadmap for all data ingested into the platform, making strategic decisions on which datasets unlock the most value for customers and product development.
  • Make critical build vs. buy decisions on strategically important land use, real estate, and infrastructure datasets, and own commercial negotiations with data vendors and partners.
  • Define how data is surfaced, structured, and made accessible across the platform to accelerate product development and improve user workflows.
  • Partner with engineering to design data infrastructure, APIs, and integration strategies that scale as the platform grows.
  • Work cross-functionally with product teams to understand their data needs, prioritize dataset acquisitions, and eliminate data bottlenecks.
  • Establish the framework for evaluating data quality, coverage, and ROI, ensuring we invest in datasets that drive measurable business outcomes.
  • Prototype rapidly with messy geospatial and land use datasets when needed, building conviction through hands-on exploration before committing engineering resources.
📈 Requirements
  • 4+ years of product management, data science, software engineering, or analytics experience.
  • 1+ years of early-stage startup experience.
  • Strong experience working with data products, platforms, or infrastructure.
  • Proven ability to work through ambiguous data problems and turn insights into clear product requirements.
  • Technically fluent—comfortable working with APIs, databases, data models, and evaluating dataset quality.
  • Experience making strategic decisions about data investments with limited information.
  • Skilled at balancing immediate product needs with long-term platform scalability.
✨ About You
  • A systems thinker who connects data decisions to product outcomes and business impact.
  • A fast learner who can evaluate unfamiliar datasets, understand their structure and limitations, and assess their strategic value in new domains.
  • Scrappy and hands-on—willing to dive into messy data yourself to build conviction and accelerate decision-making.
  • Commercially minded, always weighing the cost of data acquisition against the value it unlocks for customers and internal teams.
  • Ruthlessly protective of data quality and platform integrity while maintaining velocity.
  • Excited about the future of AI, geospatial technology, and building infrastructure that powers the energy transition.
🚀 Bonus Points
  • Former founder or experience building data platforms or infrastructure products.
  • Experience with GIS, real estate, or infrastructure datasets (zoning, parcels, electrical infrastructure, environmental layers, etc.).
  • Comfortable with Python and SQL for exploratory data analysis and prototyping.
  • Experience with geospatial tools (QGIS, PostGIS, etc.) or working with spatial data.
  • Write regularly and maintain a strong perspective about data strategy, infrastructure, or energy tech (blog, Substack, etc.).
💰 Compensation and Benefits
  • 160k-200k annual compensation
  • Competitive equity compensation
  • 401(k) matching
  • Health, Dental and Vision insurance
  • Paid company holidays & PTO
