About Eon

Eon is redefining what cloud data protection can be. Founded by the team behind CloudEndure, Eon is building a new category around protecting, managing, and unlocking the value of enterprise backup data.

We work with some of the world’s largest companies to make their cloud backup and recovery data more accessible, searchable, secure, and AI-ready. With $500M raised from leading investors including Sequoia, Lightspeed, Greenoaks, BOND, and Elad Gil, Eon is at an exciting stage of rapid growth.

We’re looking for a smart, technical, and forward-thinking Product Marketing Manager to own product marketing for Eon’s Data Protection business.
You’ll have end-to-end responsibility for how Eon Data Protection goes to market, from positioning and messaging to launches, competitive strategy, sales enablement, and customer insights. You’ll work closely with engineering, sales, customer success, and marketing to turn complex technical capabilities into clear, differentiated stories for highly technical cloud infrastructure, security, and data protection audiences.
This is a high-ownership role on a growing marketing team. You’ll operate independently, become deeply embedded in the product and market, and help shape how Eon competes and grows.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Own product marketing end to end for Eon Data Protection, including positioning, messaging, launches, competitive strategy, sales enablement, and go-to-market execution.
  • Translate complex capabilities across cloud infrastructure, backup and recovery, ransomware resilience, identity, and data security into clear, differentiated customer value.
  • Work directly with engineering to deeply understand the product, architecture, roadmap, and technical differentiation, and turn that understanding into strong market-facing narratives.
  • Build a deep understanding of customers, buyers, and the market through customer conversations, sales feedback, research, and competitive analysis.
  • Partner closely with a fast-growing sales organization to develop pitch decks, competitive guidance, battlecards, objection handling, training, demo narratives, and other customer-facing assets.
  • Use data, customer feedback, win/loss insights, and market signals to continuously improve positioning and go-to-market strategy.
  • Use AI-native tools across research, competitive intelligence, content development, analysis, experimentation, and automation.

Qualifications:
  • 6+ years of B2B product marketing experience, ideally in data protection, cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, databases, developer infrastructure, or AI infrastructure.
  • Experience independently owning product marketing for a technical product or product line.
  • Strong technical foundation, with the ability to work directly with engineers and quickly understand product architecture and differentiation.
  • Experience positioning and marketing complex products to highly technical audiences such as infrastructure, platform engineering, security, SRE, cloud, or data teams.
  • Proven track record of launching and positioning technical B2B products in competitive markets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts without losing substance.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, sales, customer success, and marketing teams in a fast-moving environment.
  • Hands-on experience using AI-native tools such as Claude, Claude Code, ChatGPT, OpenAI Codex, or similar tools to improve research, analysis, content creation, automation, or other parts of your workflow.
  • Strong curiosity about how AI is changing technology markets and modern product marketing.
  • Self-motivated, highly collaborative, and comfortable operating with significant autonomy in a fast-paced startup environment.
The annual base salary range is $155,000 - $190,000. Actual salaries will vary and are based on a candidate’s qualifications, skills, and competencies. Salary is just one component of our Compensation Philosophy. Variable/Bonus Compensation & Equity Incentives align with individual and company performance."
