Product Marketing Manager

Flex is a mid-stage, New York based FinTech startup that is transforming the renter experience by making rent flexible, affordable and easy. We enable our users to pay rent throughout the month on a schedule that better fits their finances and budget. Our mission is to give renters flexibility, comfort, and control over their largest recurring expense. After keeping a stealth profile while we built up investor support and an enthusiastic user base, we are looking for motivated individuals to help us scale our mission in 2025. Will you be a part of the team?

About the role

We're hiring a Manager, Product Marketing, Rent, to own the end-to-end GTM cycle for specific products and features within our core Rent experience. You will be the crucial link between the product and the customer, serving as the primary advocate for the renter to ensure product value is realized. You'll achieve this by leading product-level positioning and narrative development–from launch planning through channel deployment and performance analysis—driving both customer satisfaction and key business outcomes for Flex.

What you'll do

  • Develop and implement go-to-market strategies: Develop and execute the end-to-end GTM plan for assigned product and feature releases in our core Rent product, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and driving measurable results.
  • Lead positioning and narrative: Define customer pain points and the core value proposition. Craft clear, compelling messaging and a consistent narrative that drives competitive positioning across all communication touchpoints.
  • Drive GTM execution and optimization: Own the seamless delivery of the GTM plan into market. This includes partnering with Design and Front-End Development to publish and optimize final assets across critical channels (e.g., website, app store, email), ensuring high conversion and message integrity.
  • Support product growth: Partner with Product, CRM, Brand, and Performance Marketing teams to optimize in-product messaging, lifecycle communications, and launch campaigns that drive engagement, feature adoption, and retention for your focus area.
  • Synthesize market and customer insights: Conduct primary research and collaborate with our research team to synthesize a holistic view of the market and customer for your product area. You will serve as the voice of the customer to inform product strategy, messaging, and GTM.
  • Operate with speed and adaptability: Move quickly alongside Product and cross-functional partners to respond to evolving priorities, test and iterate in-market, and adjust GTM plans as products and business needs change.

What you'll bring
  • 5-7 years of experience in product marketing, with a focus on high-growth consumer or fintech environments.
  • Proven GTM impact: Demonstrated success in owning and executing end-to-end go-to-market plans for major features or products, resulting in measurable improvements in adoption, engagement, or conversion.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Strong ability to partner with and influence peer teams (Product, Design, Analytics, CRM) to secure alignment and drive key initiatives forward.
  • Deep analytical skills: Adept at translating complex performance data (adoption, conversion, retention) into clear, actionable insights that directly refine messaging and GTM strategy.
  • Hands-on ownership and bias for action: A highly proactive and outcome-oriented mindset. You are comfortable diving into the tactical details of execution and driving projects independently from strategy definition through final optimization.
