Data Product Manager at Bread
Bread, a division of Alliance Data, is a technology-driven payments company that partners with merchants and partners to personalize payment options for their customers. Bread integrates directly with merchants on their ecommerce site and gives them a single platform that lets them offer more ways to pay over time. Bread’s full-funnel recommendation engine serves up the right options at the right time, empowering merchants to sell more, improve conversion, and lift average-order-value.
Bread has enormous and engaging product and technical opportunities. We need to integrate across merchant sales channels to deliver conversion maximizing consumer experiences. Our Product and Engineering teams are seasoned, talented, agile, and quickly growing. We are looking to hire a Product Manager or Senior Product Manager to support our rapidly-growing Data vertical.
You will join our growing Product team and help support our rapidly-expanding Data Product Management practice at Bread. Reporting to our Lead Product Manager, Data, this role will work closely with both product managers across the organization, and a technical team of roughly 20 data engineers, data scientists, and data analysts. You will help build a roadmap and short- and long-term strategy for our data infrastructure, and help product teams across the company leverage batch reporting and real-time data capabilities enabled by our team.
Your work will also help drive external data integrations, development of our growth marketing stack and A/B testing infrastructure, and more. Working in close partnership with Data Engineering, Data Science, and Data Analytics, you will be immersed in a very young, fast-moving team that affords great opportunity for learning, development, and impact.
Your role at Bread:
You will support strategic vision and roadmap for our data infrastructure, integrations, analytics and data science tooling, growth marketing infrastructure, and testing tools and capabilities. You will collaborate with peers and leaders across Product, Analytics, Data Science, and Engineering to develop a well-grounded strategy for the next generation of Bread’s data platform, and work with Data Engineering to bring that vision and roadmap to life.
2-4+ years of Product Management or related experience, ideally on a platform or other internal-facing product.
Experience and interest partnering with (data) engineering, data science, and/or data analytics teams.
Comfort with technical concepts, technical communication, and the software development lifecycle.
Comfort writing high-level requirements and other product documents.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
Demonstrated ability to blend strategic and tactical execution skills; drive high-level strategy as well as dive into the weeds and get hands-on.
Effective communicator who cares about people and can build relationships and alignment both internally and externally.
Background in FinTech.
Experience working in distributed teams and in regulated industries.
Experience with data platforms, customer engagement platforms, and modern data warehousing technologies (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks).
Experience as a data engineer or data scientist.
Knowledge of, or interest in, machine learning.
Experience with streaming data and analytics and related technologies (e.g., Kafka).
Familiarity with the payments ecosystem and emerging technologies and solutions in payments.
Experience building and delivering on strategic partner-facing roadmaps.
