The Role:

The Director of Product Marketing will be responsible for determining Newsela’s messaging priorities for our target district administrator audiences based on synthesized buyer research, market trends, competitive insights, and our product roadmap. You’ll partner with Product Management, Sales, Customer Support and Success, and Marketing to bring new products and features to market and ensure message alignment across departments for new and existing offerings. You’ll lead a team of Product Marketers (as well as external freelancers and agencies) in producing best-in-class middle and bottom of funnel demand generation content, like case studies, product demos, webinars, and more to drive demand for Newsela’s products and services.

Why You’ll Love This Role:

In this role, you’ll be at the center of Newsela’s go-to-market and messaging strategies, and be instrumental in establishing Newsela’s position as an essential element of every district’s curriculum. You’ll be supporting a suite of products that is already loved by teachers, and work to ensure those same products resonate with district decision makers. You will have the opportunity to flex your individual contributor skills while managing a small team of Product Marketers, and be a part of a world-class marketing team with colleagues who are as passionate as you are about revolutionizing K-12 education for students and teachers.

Why We’ll Love You:

You’re a collaborative B2B Product Marketer with +5 years’ experience developing audience-first messaging, producing marketing materials that drive demand, and managing product launches. Understanding the needs and motivations of your target audience gets you fired up, and as a master synthesizer of information, you can discern consequential industry trends and audience insights from noise. You’re energized by projects that require you to work collaboratively toward a goal and leverage your written and verbal communication skills. You’re a natural leader who has managed Product Marketers or content creators, and you’re looking for a player-coach style role that still allows you to jump in and execute. You use your outstanding emotional intelligence to provide authentic feedback, champion and motivate your team, and navigate ambiguity and change.
