About the Team:

The Data & Analytics team works across AlphaSense to make data an asset for growth. We do that through infrastructure, process, well-modeled and documented data, analysis, and deep partnership with the business. We own and manage the data stack, which today includes (but is not limited to) Segment, Fivetran, Stitch, Dataform, BigQuery and Looker. In addition to technical leadership, we partner across departments to raise the analytics bar, drive operational improvement, and support growth. Our work spans BI dashboards for business and executive users, ML models for critical business challenges, and data & infrastructure to support our AI engineers and other critical stakeholders.  

About the Role: 

The Data & Analytics team are seeking a Product Manager to define and support the building of desirable, feasible, viable, and sustainable products that meet our customers’/stakeholders’ needs. We are accountable for building and maintaining the Core Data Platform for the business, providing world-class BI/Analytics for internal (AlphaSense employees) and external (end-customers) audiences, and providing cutting-edge AI/ML-powered insights and capabilities to support critical business scenarios. This role will report directly to the VP of Data & Analytics, and collaborate with a wide range of people and teams from across the business (Product, Research, Marketing, Sales, Operations, Finance, etc.) to identify and define needs, understand the Solution Context, and develop the Program Vision, Roadmap, and Features required to meet these needs. They will also support the Agile Release Trains (ARTs) in delivering value through planning and development cycles. 

Who You Are:

  • Deep expertise within a technical discipline such as Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology or equivalent
  • Experience with an iterative Agile methodology and use of tools like JIRA, Confluence, Git, etc.
  • 3 years of Product Management experience or equivalent
  • Excellent leadership skills and servant leader mentality
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work both in a team environment and independently
  • Understanding on some programming languages (SQL, Python, etc.), development practices (Agile/SAFe) is needed
  • Familiarity with our particular stack is a plus (AWS, mySQL, Stitch, Fivetran, Segment, Dataform/DBT, BigQuery, Looker), familiarity with similar tools is needed
  • Experience working in a multi-site setup is preferred
  • Experience working in a data analytics or business intelligence team is preferred

What You’ll Do: 

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand and capture their data and analytics needs
  • Act as a steward of the Data-as-a-Product/Analytics-as-a-Service vision, ensuring what the team builds accrues to this vision via a published roadmap, which effectively enables valuable insights and capabilities to our stakeholders working to grow the business 
  • Manage and prioritize the flow of work into the portfolio/program backlog, including facilitating Demand Governance Board motions to ensure alignment with and buy-in from across the business
  • Facilitate Program Increment (PI) Planning events to establish clear quarterly commitments, identify and resolve program risks and dependencies, and ensure tight alignment across the business
  • In partnership with our BI Evangelist, enable end-users from across the organization (and end-customers, where relevant) successfully move through Product Adoption change curves as new features and capabilities are released (Change Management, Enablement)
  • Communicate progress and key updates with other teams and stakeholders on a regular basis
