SUMMARY

We are seeking a detail-oriented person to join Haven Technologies Policy Administration team as a Product Owner, responsible for helping to build the administrative software platform for our current and future clients. As a member of the Policy Administrative team, you will collaborate with other product owners, compliance, data strategy, and key stakeholders to outline new product features and enhancements to ensure that development teams have the information they need to be able to build a platform that can administer our clients’ products.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Lead a Policy Administration Client Services sub-team focused on our calculations and illustrations
  • Execute pricing updates, new product implementation and client customization for calculations all within our product service application.  
  • Partner with our actuarial team to gather pricing files and detailed specifications on new products or customization and work with your scrum team to deliver on these 
  • Manage a roadmap: capture work from a wide range of stakeholders, understand and prioritize this work so your team is always working on the most impactful features
  • Gather a deep understanding of the features and products that you’re building through research and regular interaction with stakeholders; define the requirements for the team
  • Perform backlog grooming, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
  • Coordinate production issues and resolution, including across multiple teams
  • Own and maintain the quality of the product areas your team is responsible for; deliver software in every release
  • Be open to take on special projects when required

REQUIREMENTS

  • BS/BA required
  • 3+ years of experience as a product manager or product owner
  • Experience in an agile environment and scrum framework
  • Clear and concise written communication skills with demonstrated ability to summarize large, complex, and conflicting data
  • Strong project management skills including driving alignment, planning resources, managing milestones, and being responsible for overall project success
  • Entrepreneurial minded and driven self-starter with the ability to learn on the job
  • Collaborative and a team player
  • Intellectually curious, proactively seeks to learn new things and drive improvements
  • Must be able to work from our NYC location when we return to the office
  • Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future

PREFERRED 

  • Degree in a quantitative field
  • Experience in a technical role such as software engineering
  • Previous experience in life insurance
  • 3+ years of experience working with actuarial teams to implement financial products

We're located on Park Ave just south of Grand Central, a few short blocks to the Empire State Building and very close to a stone throw away from Korea town.
