The Vice President of Engineering at NS1 is responsible for the design, creation, and delivery of all software and service product offerings across the company. This role leads and mentors a diverse team located around the globe, with a focus on execution, quality, process, and metrics to ensure that the team is on a track for consistent improvements. This role will be managing an entire team of engineers and developers, collaborating with the product managers, marketing, and go-to-market teams to release quality products on-time and within the company’s product vision.

The ideal candidate for the role is both strategic and results-oriented with a strong technical background in networking and cloud technologies with strong management skills to support a diverse and global team. The candidate will report directly to the Chief Product Officer to strategically grow the organization while working to create a strong development culture supported by Agile methodologies.

 You will:

  • Lead, grow, and mentor a growing and diverse team of engineers and development managers.
  • Work closely with the PMO team to establish a consistent Agile methodology that supports innovation and quality.
  • Ensure expectations are managed effectively in the pursuit of on-time delivery of quality products in a CI/CD environment with a focus on meeting committed timelines. These products are both on-premise and cloud-based.
  • Establish a great product culture that is focused on innovation, scale, transparency, and accountability.
  • Effectively manage the engineering budget alongside the CEO, CPO, and CTO.
  • Accelerate the advancement of our platform in conjunction with our CEO, CPO, and CTO, either directly or by expanding our technology partnership ecosystem.
  • Work closely with our strategic partners to understand their business and priorities and how the NS1 platform can meaningfully advance those priorities.
  • Collaborate with our professional services and support teams to establish clear metrics to consistently improve our customer experience.
  • Drive accelerated revenue growth by identifying opportunities, defining the strategic rationale, developing tactical implementation plans, and driving focus for core competencies across the development team.
  • Regularly collaborate with NS1’s Board of Directors, CEO, and leadership team to educate, inform, and update on progress toward our business development priorities.
  • Support the creation and execution of multi-year product engineering strategies.

 Ideally, you’ll bring:

  • 10+ years of experience in managing development teams building enterprise SaaS products in dynamic, fast paced, and results orientated environments.
  • Strong technical background in network technologies, on-prem network components, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Agile software development and continuous delivery production infrastructure experience.
  • An ability to work independently and collaborate closely with internal constituencies while leading through influence.
  • Experience with US and local government customers and their unique requirements and support needs.
  • Experience working with enterprise customers, running design programs, and driving business development based integrations.
  • Leadership experience with multi-geographic teams.
  • CapEx, OpEx, Headcount budgeting experience.
  • Experience building strong quality initiatives within engineering teams.
  • The ability to help set the technical vision and collaborate with the product management team to establish an effective and efficient execution plan.
  • Ability to prioritize ruthlessly, dedicating the team’s time and resources on the most promising opportunities.
  • Strong Executive presence with credibility in application/infrastructure technology.
  • Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial, growth stage environment that’s quickly evolving.
  • Excellent written, interpersonal, verbal, and listening skills.
